Nivedan Nempe, the creator of Areca Tea was born in the southern part of India, in a village called Mandagadde, located in the district of Shivamogga, Karnataka. He did his schooling from the Govt. Primary and High School of Mandagadde and pursued a Bachelors degree in Pharmacy from the National College of Pharmacy in Shivamogga.
Farmers in the region of the Malenadu, where Nivedan was born, depend on Areca Nut for their livelihoods. As per the statistics he collected, over 5 lakh families were dependent upon Areca Nut cultivation and this triggered the thought of an alternate value added product development. As a pharmacist, Nivedan started working on the photo-chemistry of Areca Nut and sent it to various labs for chemical identifications. In the meanwhile, he collected research papers published on Areca and found that it contains aqueous tannins and many useful chemicals such as anti-oxidants, Proline (Amino Acids) and digestive enzyme enhancing agents. With all the information he had gathered he started working on a new product. Extracting tannins from Areca and aided by his research, Nivedan introduced a new product to the world of tea lovers – Areca Tea. The modernization took 3 to 4 months and Areca Tea Bags went out to the market. He thanks the media for helping Areca Tea gain popularity and taking it to the international level.
And the packing for their products is given to rural people that struggle to make ends meet owing to their age and disability. The business motivates them now and they are working on more by-products from Areca Nut, paddy and sugarcane to further enhance the farmers to grow this crop economically. His dream is to present to the world an array of creations which upholds sustainable goals.
As in India agriculture is not developed as to the imagined level , Around 60% people are depending upon agriculture but the contribution for GDP from agriculture is only 16-17% . He thought of giving new touch to the agriculture and started to develop some agricultural products but at initial stages they failed.
Later, as he was living in malenadu region where areca is grown widely the areca farmers were facing some problems he thought of solving it using his knowledge of pharmacy than he developed areca tea which gave him a big break after many lab tests it was known that diabetics can be cured and is having many health by this product.
As this innovation took place many people were able to get job opportunities as workers, and sellers.
The tea has helped to overcome from diabetes and has many health benefits.
The company is also involved in employing specially-abled persons and elderly citizens in working such as packing. “The manual packing work is outsourced from the people who are usually at home. We picked elderly persons and specially-abled persons and today they are making a life out of packing the products.
The Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Co-operative Limited (CAMPCO) has received an intermediate clinical report suggesting that areca isn’t dangerous, but on the contrary, is a life-saving substance. However, he refused to divulge details, as he said the organization had been awaiting a final report in two weeks, post which details will be made public. Emphasizing on the credibility of the report, he said it could also be submitted to the Supreme Court.

Revenue was raised initially from his family members, friends and a bank loan than company got market and gained the required revenue
Employees are treated really well in their organization there is domination between high level and low level employees as they are operating in village where Indian culture is merely spread they are like a family.
The product has already been sold in foreign countries and they follow organic way of marketing practice which means selling products in a way Word of mouth
No harmful gases or substances are released out while manufacturing the product. Farmers are benefited as they sell areca to the company.
