Smartest Energy is a young Mexican team committed to continuous development of converting pollutant waste tires into high value products like low carbon emitting diesel substitute and carbon black char. Their goal is to provide to society a better environment, decreasing the impact of two pollution sources in the transportation system: scrap tires and diesel fuel.

The aim is to boost the market of efficient usage of waste and transform it into valuable products. They are achieving this through research and development in technological recycling.

The market is for more than 1.35 billion tires that represent more than $2 billion in revenues, and estimated CAGR of 4%, the biggest markets are Europe and North America, and Mexico has potential due to their geographical position near to the US. The governments around the globe are more sympathizers of tax benefits for the reuse and recycling that stimulates it.

They contribute to the planet in three different aspects:

Affordable & Clean Energy: generate a diesel substitute capable of producing a clean fuel that can help to decrease the dependence on petroleum derivatives. The fuel produced by HM Energy generates 24% less CO2 than petroleum diesel.

Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: Smartest Energy has developed a business model that allows it to work together with any other possible company/investor that is willing to acquire a tire-to-products conversion module. The investor will be responsible for the initial investment and HM Energy will be in charge of operating the conversion module in order to ensure the high quality of the products. The calculated internal rate of return (IIR) for these projects is around 30%.

Responsible Consumption and Production: In Mexico, 38 million used tires are discarded every year and only 7% are either recycled or used to produce energy. Each of our tires-to-products conversion modules is able to increase the national tire-recycling rate in 1.5%
