JanaJal remotely monitors all the ATMs using an established cloud-based IT infrastructure which works in real time. Technology enables dispensing data about the system health and the purity levels of water dispensed. It ensures the smooth functioning of the ATM’s at various places.

Renewal Energy for Rural Areas by Cycling

For been interested in sustainable projects, the students from the technical school Nº 1 “Jorge Alfredo Maciel” from San Andrés de Giles, started to develop, in 2016, the project B.E.L.U. Their main goal was to help a colleague that lives in the rural zone who didn’t have electricity in his house.

B.E.L.U. is a module of energy, created to transform the power of the human movement into electrical energy, through the pedaling of a bike. With this is possible to charge a cellphone and turn on a LED light. Also, B.E.L.U. is a great form to make physical activities and an efficient way to follow a healthy lifestyle.

B.E.L.U. generates alliances with the students, the school, and municipality of San Andrés de Giles and international organizations as “Caring for our Watersheds”, in a very positive context to promote the development of the clean energies in Argentina.

Considering the SDGs we can realize that B.E.L.U. contributes massively, cause it comprehends 3, 4, 7, 11 and specially 17.

To the Start of a Healthy Life

CareNX is helping in providing doorstep care with the CareMother portable kit and mobile application to empower health-workers and engage pregnant women. It is a unique idea of its own kind which leverages upon the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence, mobile integrated device monitoring with sensing devices and wireless protocol VOIP development. It is the best product for such countries like India where the community health care system is not completely developed and many people living in remote areas are still deprived of basic healthcare facilities.

This medical kit is made specially catering to the need of pregnant women who need a frequent medical check-up, start from the very next day of their pregnancy. This medical kit consists of two devices, first is a basic medical examination device designed especially for the need of pregnant women. With the help of the kit, 8 to10 tests which are recommended for pregnant women during her pregnancy, can be performed within 10 minutes. Data gathered from these tests is directly analysed by a mobile App which gives the advisory results and suggests further action.

The second device, named is fetosense which is very useful during the third trimester of pregnancy. This device performs certain tests to check the medical condition of the fetus and again the data is analysed by mobile App shows results for a normal delivery case or a caesarean case. These devices can be operated by a normal health worker and interpretation of the results can be done without the need of the doctor. A web application has also been developed with this kit which can help to keep a record of the pregnant women in that area which can be used later for improving health facilities in that area. Thus, this innovation is helping in reaching people in remote areas and providing services cost-effectively, making health services at doorsteps possible. CareNX gets its revenue by selling CareMother kits at a fixed price to its customers (NGOs, hospitals and the CSR teams of corporates). Besides, it earns recurring revenue for software usage on a per pregnancy basis.

More Production, Less Contamination Using Agriculture Precision Technology

The platform uses satellite images of the SaaS type (software as a service), giving advantages such as telemetry, traceability, and automatism. Traceability allows the remote measurement of physical quantities and the subsequent sending of information to the system operator. Traceability is a series of procedures that allow one to follow the process of evolution of a product in each of its stages. Automatism is the absence of intervention of external agents in the operation of a mechanism or in the development of a process. All of these processes applied to agriculture have transformed the field and added value, bringing what was thought to be the future into the present.

The user draws the location of the lots and the tool begins to obtain the satellite images, processes them and begins to calculate the vigor, yield, harvest rates and to detect the anomalies of the land and notifies the user by e-mail. This way, it manages the field permanently and remotely and / or online. In this way, having the necessary data, each hectare of the field becomes efficient, and consequently favors the economy and local development, and by maximizing the efficiency of inputs, we move towards sustainable agriculture.

The SDG that is involved in this case is "Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure".

Improving Farmers Life's Quality Through Dairy Development Program

PT Frisian Flag Indonesia (FFI) continues to hold its commitment to empower Indonesian dairy farmers by building a digital Milk Collection Point (MCP) in Pangalengan. Through a partnership with the South Bandung Pangalengan Livestock Cooperative (KPBS Pangalengan), MCP was also built to encourage dairy farmers to continue to have good livestock management and governance in order to improve the welfare of farmers. At present, KPBS Pangalengan records Total Plate Count (TPC) data of around 0.3 million cfu / ml for the best quality milk produced by dairy farmers.

MCP was one of the innovation that PT. Frisian Flag Indonesia did as a part of Frisian Flag Dairy Development Program (DDP) - a long-term program that aims to improve the quality and productivity of fresh milk produced by Indonesia farmers. At the end it will indirectly improve farmers life's quality since it's prove can improve the milk production and also quality which lead to a better income for the farmers. The DDP program is a public and private partnership that aims to improve dairy farming in Indonesia. The DDP program launched in 2013 and its implementation in Indonesia reflects a long-term partnership between FrieslandCampina, FFI, the Lembang & Pangalengan Dairy Farmer Cooperative, Wageningen University, Friesland consultant, Agriterra, and the Dutch Government.

Sustainable Design

Danielle Trofe Design originated with the development of a vertical hydroponic unit. The idea was being able to grow agriculture in urban environments. In other words, it was essentially a vertical garden technology that allowed the consumer to grow fruits, vegetables, herbs, plants within their home with hydroponic technology.

The MushLume Lighting collection redefines what interior objects are made from and encourages a new way to utilize natural materials. "By tapping into a unique material science such as mushroom mycelium, we can begin to reimagine a more sustainable future. All the lamps are GROWN, not manufactured, from mushrooms." They’re organic, sustainable and biodegradable.

Indoor Vertical Gardens are extraordinary and stimulate our innate, biophilic response, they also deliver physical and psychological benefits by regulating air quality, temperate and humidity, while also boosting mood and creativity.

This serves as a holistic approach to design and lifestyle.
