Restaurants under the umbrella of Bravo Restaurants Inc. offer customers the opportunity to order and eat their meals on-site. However, most sites offer take-out and food delivery services. Becoming aware of the excess use of disposable plastics for carry-out and deliveries, the corporate leaders at Bravo directed that all of their restaurants eliminate the use of all plastics and replace them with compostable items. This was just one of the first steps of many as they worked towards sustainability.
Deforestation is a serious problem affecting the global ecosystem. In 2022, deforestation increased by 4% compared to 2021, with the loss of 6.6 million hectares of forest, threatening the goal of eliminating tree loss by 2030, according to a study by the Forest Declaration Assessment (FDA), a coalition of civil society organizations that monitors deforestation on the planet.
In Colombia, according to the IDEAM (Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies of Colombia), in the first 3 months of 2020, the country lost 64,000 hectares of forest. On the other hand, it takes about 17 trees to produce 1 ton of paper, a figure that does little to compensate since each tree produces enough oxygen for 3 people to breathe a day. As a result, Colombia wastes more than 2 million tons of paper per year. Taking these figures into account, alarm bells began to go off because of this great problem called deforestation.
As a social enterprise, Plantú seeks to contribute with eco-conscious products, turning them into an instrument to generate a positive impact on the planet and more awareness about the importance of how we manage our waste. Transforming what is considered "garbage" into plants.

In the Bastar District of Chhattisgarh, a new business initiative called Bastar Food Firm & Consultancy Services (BFFCS) was born with the goal of bringing food technology, research, and development to the tribal territory of Bastar and its surrounding regions in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. In the aforementioned region, Mahua as an ingredient was predominantly utilized in the production of alcoholic beverages due to the absence of alternative and more beneficial applications, resulting in adverse health effects within the community and substantial wastage of valuable raw materials. BFFCS started making differentiated products such as Mahua Tea , Ladoo etc. using old tribal recipes but with modern food technology techniques that catered to enriching health as well as improving the livelihood of the community. The company fulfilled multiple SDG's such as SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) & SDG 17 (Partnership For Goals).
Currently, one of the main sources of pollution and a great contributor to climate change is the production and use of plastics. The incineration and disposal of plastic waste causes the loss of marine and terrestrial flora and fauna, an increase in atmospheric CO2 levels, and the pollution of riverine and oceanic waters.
According to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), it is estimated that “plastic represents 85% of the waste that reaches the oceans and warns that, by 2040, the volumes of this material that will flow into the sea will almost triple, with an annual quantity of between 23 and 37 million tons. This means around 50 kg of plastic per meter of coastline worldwide."
“In Colombia, plastic consumption reaches the alarming figure of 1,250,000 tons per year. According to Greenpeace, 74 percent of the plastic containers used in the country end up in landfills, contributing to the growing environmental problem. It is estimated that each Colombian throws away approximately 24 kilos of plastic annually, further aggravating the situation.”
BEIPLAS, through its brand MAHIZ BIOPACK, seeks to provide a solution to the urgent problem of excessive production, consumption, and non-responsible use of non-biodegradable plastic.
“The most important and beautiful thing about our MAHIZ bags is that they r require a short time to compost and degrade. The decomposition process of polyethylene-based plastic takes approximately 300 to 500 years, while the decomposition process of a MAHIZ bag is the same as that of a banana peel,” mentions Sebastian Estrada.

– menciona Sebastian Estrada.

All the activities of the foundation, all projects and events are pieces of a puzzle that the “Reserved Embassy" foundation confidently puts together. Being an ardent supporter of the protection and restoration of natural territories, all the innovations introduced by the foundation are aimed at achieving 12 of the 17 goals, but mostly at SDG 6 - clean water and sanitation, SDG 13 - combating climate change, SDG 14 - preserving marine ecosystems, SDG 15 - preserving terrestrial ecosystems. The recent innovation, which is the creation of Russia's first environmental endowment capital to help specially protected natural areas in the amount of 13 million rubles, partially satisfies SDG-17 - partnerships for sustainable development.
There is a strong opinion that all foundations live off the funds of their trustees. In fact, this is not the case, although the "Reserved Embassy" of the foundation has famous people among its trustees, such as Menshov V.V., Drozdov N.N. and many others. The trustees are friends with whom the foundation personally negotiates and who support its ideas, knowing the leaders directly. Therefore, trustees are more useful for image and reputation.
The "Reserved Embassy" receives significant sums of the money from grants that it wins. Most recently, the foundation submitted an application to the Presidential Grants Fund for assistance on the topic of preserving the puffin, which lives in the Kandalaksha Nature Reserve and on the islands. Its population is declining, no one can understand why. The foundation also has programs that are funded by businesses and partners, some of them are targeted donations, when the foundation comes to an agreement with companies, and they do some specific project together. For example, the "Reserved Embassy" had experience in the field of reforestation, when a business asked them to help with planting forests, garbage collection, etc. Then, among the "subordinate" protected areas, the foundation is looking for those where there are places of former harems that require the planting of new forests. Another example is the conservation of biodiversity. The topic that all companies report on in their sustainability reports. There is also an option to sign socio-economic agreements that big business concludes with the leadership of the region in terms of the development of volunteerism and tourism in the region.
The fund can also help from a marketing point of view in the construction of an eco-trail, make some beautiful projects of its own and much more. Tinkoff Bank has launched an action to help animals, offering an exclusive design of cards depicting symbols of Russian regions; Tele2 operator users can call wild animals to a short number, hear their voice, and the cost of the call will go to the fund for the protection of rare species of animals. The "Reserved Embassy" also developed the "Place of Power" project together with MTS about reserved tourism lessons. In general, now the company's environmental agenda is something that must necessarily be, and funds such as the "Protected Embassy" can help in this.
