ReGrained creates food products that are good for you and good for the planet. Their flagship product is SuperGrain+, a versatile ingredient which has similar applications to wheat flour but has 55% more dietary fiber and 26% fewer calories, and is also high in protein. It is derived from “spent” brewer’s grain. Brewers first steep malted barley in hot water to extract its sugars and starches, and what remains ReGrained then transforms this into SuperGrain+ through their patented process. Their business "upcycles" nutritious edible byproducts and create delicious food ingredients and products. In the spirit of SDG #9, they partnered with the US government to develop an innovative process to capture the value from overlooked ingredients considered byproducts. They are practicing responsible consumption, SDG #12, by keeping valuable organics in the food system and not going to waste. Lastly, reduced food waste also reduces greenhouse gases and contributes to SDG #13 Climate Action.

There are several innovations that have led Waste Management to have an impact on society and the environment while, in the meantime, helping their business. One of the most helpful innovations to Waste Management has been the practice of waste reduction. This is a practice of trying as best as they can to minimize the amount of waste starting at the beginning of the manufacturing process. They implemented this practice after realizing they could make a much greater impact on the environment if they moved up the processing chain to before the products were manufactured and helped companies at the forefront of the manufacturing process.

An ideal way to size-up and develop human resources is through supervised simulators. These simulators offer us rigorous observation events of behaviors between the participants.
Developing work teams is not an easy task. Inside of extensive spectrum of options, the simulation programs of ¨swarm thinking¨ has given the best results. Swarm thinking means that the team members have shared the behavior codes for the best long term problem solution. When all the members sign on to the ideal action codes, along with effective improvement of communication, they start making better decisions for the greater good.
Alfonso Atala, the company founder, points out that these games and simulators propitiate common wellness rather than individualism. If we apply it to a much bigger scale, the benefits will be not just for the participant but for the entire company, the society, the whole country, etc.
These games and simulators work with participant behaviors, favoring the strategic, critical and planning thinking, generating a more participative, equitable, sustainable and responsible society. Alfonso points that "previous investigations show that social programs based on strategic games have proved to be successful..

The business innovation that Zoni Language focuses on is giving everyone a fair chance to learn English through innovative ways and through intensive English programs. Zoni Language’s business model is a relatively new idea because it is one of the few companies that has locations, better known as small campuses, all over the world. The campuses are specifically designed to teach people English through their programs. Their business model provides each student a balanced education, but also includes fun activities such as making time for educational and student bonding trips that allow students to interact with each other outside of the classroom. Each of Zoni’s campuses or centers is similar to a small college, except instead of teaching multiple disciplines, they focus solely on teaching people English, which is a unique business model. Their main innovation is offering virtual classes and online exams. This is both environmentally friendly and considerate for people who might have issues with transportation or scheduling.

“6 years ago, it was so hard to explain to my parents what Lingkaran is and what it is doing, but now everyone has known and shared the vision of Lingkaran and to me, it’s the biggest achievement!” - Wendy Pratama (Lingkaran’s Founder).
Lingkaran was established 6 years ago in 2014 at Indonesia. It started from the founder’s confusion. After graduating from Institute Technology of Bandung focusing in architecture, Wendy’s mother asked him to renovate her property and whilst he knew the technicality of the tasks, he didn’t understand the market and industry in real life. Similar to many youngsters in Indonesia those days, Wendy experienced great difficulty to finish the practical tasks requiring knowledge that he hadn’t been taught at university. Carrying the passion to help people overcome this knowledge gap challenge, Wendy set out to create a place, an ecosystem, that can bridge the gap between formal school and the industry for newly graduated students. And that place is named Lingkaran.
And now, after 6 years since its establishment, Lingkaran has been well-known as a leading creative education platform in Indonesia. With the vision “To be the progressive ecosystem that pushes and supports Indonesia’s founders and talents to reach the world class standard”, Lingkaran has created more than 500 programs especially in the creative, digital, and entrepreneurial sectors and it has inspired more than 150,000 young people across Indonesia.
More than just a bridge to close the knowledge gap, Lingkaran has also become an extended network where young passionate entrepreneurs in Indonesia can connect and get support from each other. Like it is described - “Lingkaran is a home of remarkable people from all walks of life”.
