The New Buzz in Delivery

ShipperBee is an innovative company revolutionizing the current systems of delivery. By using an end-to-end transport system that utilizes cars already on their own commute in conjunction with solar powered and interconnected transfer mailboxes called hives, distribution centers are cut out of the equation. ShipperBee provides a cleaner and more affordable shipping model that reduces the costs and pollution associated with conventional shipping methods. As a result, it promotes the UN Sustainable Development Goals of affordable and clean energy; decent work and economic growth; sustainable cities and communities; industry innovation and infrastructure; and partnerships for the goals.

Building a Better Indonesia Together

Indonesia is a developing country, where massive infrastructure developments have occurred for the last 20 years. Steel, as the main material needed in infrastructure development, has been in high demand during this period of time, causing on-time delivery issues. Arif Wibowo Tan as the founder tried his best to cope with this issue. During 2010 Anugrah Steel had 30 delivery fleets ensuring that customers are satisfied with their purchase. “Having 30 delivery fleets didn’t actually solve the problem,” says Arif Wibowo. He concluded that increasing the number of fleets do not actually speed up the delivery process as demands are increasing quickly. He then thought to himself why not partner up with local people around to help with the delivery. In this way, the company can grow bigger while still keeping its purpose to give back to the locals. In the last 5 years, Anugrah Steel has sold more than 75% of its fleets leaving to just 10 delivery fleets.

Waste Disposal: A Growing Concern

Recognizing that our landfills continue to grow and the significant impact landfills have on our environment, Greenwave centers its operations around diverting the waste it collects from reaching landfills as much as possible. It employs a three step waste disposal process to achieve this: (1) donate, (2) recycle, (3) and finally dispose. In doing so, the main Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Greenwave seeks to address is ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns (SDG #12).

Blending technology with Indigenous Practices - Made in India

In countries like India and Africa, consumers are fond of Chakki Ground Wheat Flour rather than Roller Mill Ground Flour. Traditional Chakki Grinding Mills are either hand-operated or too "mechanical" leading to the entire process becoming cumbersome and time-consuming. To satisfy the needs and desires of customers effectively and efficiently, mill owners always look for ways to make milling better, faster, and easier. Choyal group came up with a ‘smart’ and innovative product offering named Wonder Mill.

“This is a completely automated flour mill (Chakki Grinding Mills with Stone), which facilitates remote control of its operations through the integration of wireless network services. The product is smart with digital capabilities such as Power Saving, Wifi Connectivity, Android Application based monitoring & control system" explains Mr. Choyal. Wonder Mill is the world’s first fully automated touch screen integrated flour mill. Wonder Mill also integrates many efficient features like easy operation, less to negligible human interface, high engraving precision, advanced performance, benchmarked data, and so on.

Promoting Breastfeeding and Strengthening Communities

Their vision for Sanggar ASI (Breastfeeding Studio) is for it to be a role model social entrepreneurship that cares about natural upbringing and employ the golden standard in baby nutrition. Their mission includes being an ethical and competitive company in their field for baby and breastfeeding supplies so that it can fund their social activities. Another mission includes giving social service in relation to a natural upbringing by offering free education and counseling.

Sanggar ASI also promoted Gender Equality by emphasizing an important role of young fathers to support their young wifes in raising and breastfeeding their infants. In Indonesian culture, the role of raising and breastfeeding is normally the responsibility of the mother alone. However, Raisika and her team would like to break that culture and introduce an important role that fathers' have to play in breastfeeding.

Thus, Sanggar ASI is striving to erase poverty, increase health and well being, and support quality education by ensuring that young mothers are able to breastfeed their babies.

Making the Green Greener

The legalization of cannabis has added to Canada’s insatiable appetite for energy; ironically, the industry is far from "green". Blade Filters is changing this reality one filter at a time by introducing a zero-waste carbon filter with a replaceable carbon cartridge. This innovation achieves good health as well as responsible production and consumption as carbon filters remove up to 98% of VOCs and uses North American, virgin, granular activated carbon, ensuring consistent quality. Through their recycling program, customers never have to throw their carbon filters away again and can instead be part of a community that is taking a 100% wasteful process down to zero waste, joining the future of sustainable cultivation methods.
