Summary

Flit contributes to several of the different UN goals, however, the 11th UN goal is the outstanding one for Flit. They contribute to more sustainable cities and communities mainly by working towards a low unemployment rate. By employing young adults, they give them a push into the professional working life. This push can be crucial for a younger generation, without any prior experience.

Innovation

Flit AB is a recruitment company focusing on Logistics, Industry, and Engineering. The company was established in the year of 2008 in Jönköping by Erik Kylberg, the CEO, and founder. Before he started Flit AB, he worked within the recruitment branch which was an eye-opener in order to start his own company. During his time as an employee within the recruitment branch, he noticed a lack of motivated consultants. As an entrepreneur, Kylberg's main goal is to find driven consultants and give them work tasks that are suitable for each individual.

Good health and well-being is the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals. This goal is something that Flit takes into consideration through offering their employees a wellness grant to obtain their well-being. Along with that, every employee has the opportunity to go through an annual health check covered by Flit.

The fourth goal is Quality Education and Flit believes it is of great importance to focus on this goal in order to succeed and grow as an individual. Flit offer their employees the educations needed and today they are offering forklift education to each employee. Also, the employees are always supported by Flit if they have an opportunity to enter a suitable education.

The eleventh goal considers the development of Sustainable Cities and Communities. Flit’s mission has a clear connection with the aim to develop Jönköpings County into a more sustainable community. For Jönköping municipality, Flit is an important organization since they employ all types of people. With a focus on young adults, they help a lot of people to both enter the labor market, as well as getting more experience.

Inspiration

As a leader, Kylberg´s main goal and inspiration is to find driven consultants and give them work tasks that are suitable for each individual. Having the ability to help people is what motivates Kyberg in his daily work as a leader.

Kyberg said: ”When placing the right person at the right job position, the result will be a satisfied customer, a satisfied employee and a satisfaction for us as a company”.

According to Kylberg, educating employees is one way to keep them inspired. As a leader, it is important to enable the development of your employees. Another important attribute Kylberg values as a leader are to work as hard as one expect one’s employees to do. Along with that, Kylberg thinks it is important with honesty and respect towards each other.

However, as an entrepreneur, profit is also an important driving force and one of Flit’s main future goals is to reach a revenue of 100 million SEK.

Overall impact

Flit has several different stakeholders within their organisation that are constantly impacted by Flits innovation. For instance, employees, managers, owners and board members are examples of internal stakeholders while customers, the community and, partners are some examples of external stakeholders that Flit possesses. Flits customers are important internal stakeholders since they often rely on Flits ability to appoint an employee within a short time margin. If this need is not satisfied, the company might not be able to meet the goals for the day, which could result in a critical outcome for both parties. Another internal stakeholder are the employees, since they can both affect and be affected by the outcomes of the company. If something would happen with Flit, they could risk to lose their jobs and therefore not receive a salary.

For Jönköping municipality, Flit is an important organisation since they employ all types of people. With a focus on young adults, they help a lot of people to both enter the labor market, as well as getting more experience. Flit serves as a complement to the employment agency but strives to work more efficient and productively when it comes to offering their consultants a work they are suited for as fast as possible. This is supported through an article written by Jönköpings Posten, the local newspaper, the unemployment in Jönköpings County has decreased and in 2017 only three percent of the citizens born in Sweden was unemployed which is the best percentage in Sweden. This development is certainly something that Flit has contributed to.

Business benefit

The year of 2016, Flit had a revenue of 47 million SEK, while in 2017 they had a rapid increase of 10 million, which led to a revenue of 57 million SEK. This increase is due to their extended network and their growing customer base in the county of Jönköping. Flit has a future goal to reach a turnover of 100 million SEK. To be able to reach this goal Kylberg and Flit aims to continue developing their way of working and to always offer qualitative employees for their customers. A satisfied customer will spread a good reputation to their network and suppliers, which in turn gives Flit the possibility to enlarge their customer base.

With 120 full-time employees, Flit guarantee all of these a salary whether or not they have a position for them. This is probably the biggest concern for any recruitment company. Paying a salary to an employee who is not active that day, leads to expenses instead of income. This increase in expenses make their goal in reaching a turnover of 100 million SEK more difficult and also extends the time limit. Therefore it is important to always have a backup plan for these occasions as well as trying to plan as good as possible.
