Alan Ventura, one of the co-founders, was motivated by the challenges his mother faced after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. Her seven-year journey of recovery made him realize the importance of accessible and effective healthcare technologies. “For me, the key moment was when my mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor. That made me question why no one detected it before if the technology existed to do so. Similarly, Israel González, the other co-founder, was diagnosed with Lyme disease, which temporarily caused him to lose functionality in his hands and legs. “Israel, my partner, faced a temporary disability due to Lyme disease. That process led him to reflect: 'What can I do to help someone else in this situation?' Thus the first prototype of the bionic arm was born, driven by his desire to make a difference.”
