Although the message is not solidarity, the background of the company is. Be Helpie provides users with experiences, products, or services they value, and in doing so, users support the efforts of several NGOs and foundations.

Dried Fruits for Fresh Beginnings

Guermello is a micro-franchise owned by “Taza Valley”, the firm that is known for its high social responsibility standards and contribution towards several good causes like gender equality and fighting poverty through adopting an employment practice where local job applicants are given preferential. This greatly support the local labour market as, since the city is largely non-industrial, there are few stable job opportunities for locals. Moreover, the company has adopted a unified salary scale for both genders which insures equality between all employees in the firm. Guermello was launched in 2017, a micro-franchise selling dried fruits through fixed and mobile sale places. The whole project is financed from one of the public microcredit companies.

More than sixty people are already benefiting from the program. Discussions with oil companies for the installation of fixed units for a monthly rent are underway.

The social commitment of the project is demonstrated through its sales people: single women with children, former prisoners, young women who couldn’t finish their studies... Guermello is a concept that seduces since, according to Kassal, "the first results sound encouraging and promising ".

Aspire2Access has many innovative projects compared to those of other charities, especially within the local community of Ayr. One unique way in which A2A aims to provide innovative support is through modern apprenticeships (MA). The charity provides MAs to individuals who may not be able to apply to other apprenticeships or higher education due to entry levels. However, A2A provides ways for the public to further their education by not having an entry level requirement for their apprenticeships. This is innovative as no other council or organisation provides the same opportunity. In 2017 A2A provides 21 MAs and supported 17 young people to gain their MA.

They connect entrepreneurs with their own community of investors. As Clara Navarro says, "The fact that we are specialized in technology, climate change and health areas promotes this connection within the communities." This connection leads to future potential opportunities to create sustainably developed holdings with a social focus. Ship2B also incentivizes the creating of such startups because of the connection it is able to create between investors and founders.

The Wheatley Foundation’s (TWF) innovation is a service called ‘My Great Start’, targeted at social housing tenants from vulnerable groups. The interviewee Sharon McIntyre, Financial Inclusion Innovation Manager, describes the aim of this service as an “early intervention and prevention service” for social housing tenants, designed to create sustainable communities. Furthermore, they provide services in solar system troubleshooting and maintenance as well as battery back-up solar power systems so that customers can use their solar when the power goes out. They are extremely involved in the search for affordable and clean energy through new innovations in his industry.
