Building the Power of Refugee and Immigrant Woman

This business approaches different issues regarding refugee integration. They do so by combining efforts in politics, economics, trainings, and empowerment, all to support refugee and immigrant women. Most organizations only focus on one or two, but not all. On top of that, there are no organizations that provide paid advocacy, job training, and community organizing all at the same time. A notable aspect that makes Havenly stand out is their focus on providing opportunities specifically for women, recognizing the intersectional oppression this particular group faces.

Present and Future of the Students and Educators

Primary Goal: SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth

Secondary Goal: SDG 4 - Quality Education

Bethel Academy aims for decent work for its employees that will lead to a more stable economic growth. This means that the Bethel Academy would focus on delivering a fair income, social protection and allow flexibility of working arrangements for the educators and hours. This strongly promotes labor rights and a secure working environment.

Concerning decent work and economic growth, this movement would allow Bethel Academy to continue achieving quality education for its students. Paying educators with competitive salaries would improve the recruitment and retention of Bethel's high-quality teachers. By making structural changes in salary programs to invest in the foundations of quality teaching, Bethel could now widen the profile of who can be considered as educators. Choosing qualified educators is significant because they have a lifelong impact on all of their students, not only on the academic skills but also on the students’ self-esteem that would affect motivation and learning.

A New Era Where Sustainability Rolls In And Becomes Inherent In Our Everyday Lives

When one hears the word “sustainability”, a few things such as water consumption, fast fashion and food waste come to mind, but never toilet paper. It's safe to say there isn’t enough awareness in our everyday lives about the impact its production has on the environment. To quote Alex Crumbie of Ethical Consumer (2019), “there is no need to cut down forest to make toilet rolls, yet this is precisely what is happening.”

And so, The Good Roll to the rescue! Distinctive in their humour and personality, one can’t help but be curious about the team behind their quirkiness.

More Than Just a Game

The Miami Marlins organization and Foundation are businesses based upon the prosperity of the greater Miami area, their baseball culture, educating the community, and supplying sustainable resources for overall growth. The Miami Marlins is a baseball franchise originally founded in 1991 that then entered the Major League Baseball Organization (MLB) in 1993. They have many different sources of income, but the main goals and initiatives of the organization go beyond the ballpark. Their innovation is not based on the field or in the dugout, but rather their overall investment in building a better community, creating better business and player role modeling for the future, and introducing better life skills and educational opportunities. The Marlins organization has gone through many changes within overall ownership and management, but their most important impact and point of opportunity is partnering with their fans and culture. Their plan of impact is to build a better future and society for their family and home regions, which will in turn create a more positive sports culture and source of living for growth. Deeper than Literature

For our AIM2Flourish story, we interviewed Bob Byrns, who is the Vice-President of Marketing and Sales for Paulist Press. Paulist Press is a Catholic Book Publishing company that has been around since the mid-1800s. As the book publishing industry continues to transition to digital, Bob sat down and spoke with us about the company and that process.

Paulist Press is a fascinating book company that goes beyond the traditional aspects of most book businesses. The company based its traditions on the Paulist Fathers, established by and for the purpose of Americans, consisting of a society of missionary priests. The focus of Paulist Press carries on the legacy of the Paulist Fathers by spreading the word of Jesus through American Catholicism. Back in 1858, the Paulist Fathers operated within public lecture halls. Today, Paulist Press advances to turn this way of life into a full-blown digital and physical print book company.
