The founders of the business said: “ We were involved in organic farming and we used to supply organic products, during this time we observed that everything was plastically packed and plastic never decomposes, we also got the feedback from our customers that they don’t want the organic products wrapped in plastic, we also got to know about the later effects of plastic disposal on environment and how harmful it is, all of these factors inspire us to start a store like Adrish.”

The store was started in Pune in the year 2018, after that in 3 years, 16 more stores have been opened in different cities around the country. The number of employees directly associated with the store chain are 200.

The store is expanding its product range and now provides almost everything a person needs in daily household routine. The store also supports self-help groups which comprise of 90% women.

The organization also promotes the eco-friendly and organic lifestyle by providing all the organic products it can in the form of vegetables, fruits other groceries decorative materials, clothes, kitchen ware even daily use personal items like tooth brushes. Customers are getting an organic substitute for almost all of their daily needs, thus promoting this ecofriendly culture which benefits environment and society. Adrish also supports farmers and women entrepreneurs through self help groups. Apart from this there are a range of eco-friendly packing and zero waste essentials available at the stores like paper bags, containers and pouches so that people in all together minimize the use of plastic. Reduction in the use of plastic is the main aim and inspiration for the founders of Adrish.
