Our group had the fortunate opportunity to meet and listen to the story behind CSK’s founder Cyprian Khoza. He shared that his inspiration originated from a profound love of nature, an unyielding concern for the planet’s wellbeing, and a burning desire to make a positive impact on the world. This passion fueled his ambition to create a company dedicated to solving environmental and social challenges within companies. As a specialized expert in environmental science, ecology, engineering and sustainability, Khoza transformed his knowledge into solutions. He envisioned a company that not only tackled complex environmental problems but also provided valuable guidance to its clients. Khoza spoke of recognizing an opportunity in the growing demand for environmental services, understanding that sustainability and environmental responsibility often leads to profitability, propelling his vision forward in the field.

Khoza also shared how environmental regulations and government incentives inspired him. Instead of viewing stricter environmental regulations as obstacles, they became opportunities to guide clients in the right direction. CSK’s business model and operations are deeply intertwined with Khoza’s personal values. Despite being a newly established company, CSK has taken the market by storm since its inception just over a year ago. Right from the start, there was a significant demand for their services, a trend that has only increased over time. Currently, the company operates only nationally, focusing primarily on the mining industry, which is a vast sector present in many regions in Mpumalanga, Mbombela, South Africa. The mining industry faces significant challenges in transitioning to sustainability, creating a substantial need for CSK’s services. Khoza, the company’s founder, envisions expanding the business internationally. Given the high demand and quick growth, this vision looks promising. To meet this growing demand the company plans to hire more staff, a process that requires precision to ensure employees all have the right knowledge and expertise.

These can vary from extensive projects where entire operational methods need to be revamped and rebuilt, to smaller checks where they develop strategies to encourage companies to rethink and change specific routines.
