The important and fundamental thing for this discipline is to develop the maximum potential of each individual who attend Sin Moo Hapkido classes in Mexico, being in complete harmony in body, mind and spirit. In this way the goal is improving society in which we live, having people committed to the service of others.
Some words stated by the President of Sin Moo Hakido in Mexico are as follows : "It changed my life, I get rid of insecurities, I changed physically, I reach the point where I dedicate myself 100 percent in this discipline for all the benefits received personally, wanting in the same way to share it with others”.
Students develop a capacity for resilience to face the world in which they live, improving in an extraordinary way in the personal, familiar and professional fields.
The reason for the discipline is to reach more and more human beings to create empathy with others, having an attitude of service towards others, always showing the balance of mind, body and spirit.
The main reason for the Sin Moo Hapkido leader's inspiration is that the business (and the core activity) changed him in his main circles: personal, family and professional; he discovered a complete discipline in which he can be strengthened on a physical level, having better conditions for health, on a mental level, to have thoughts and actions that benefit the student and their peers, creating awareness of an attitude of service to others in an empathetic way.
The professor says: "I believe that the most important thing in innovation lies in people, there is a beneficial change in the SMH practitioner, it renews its spirit, leaves laziness, improves discipline, perseverance, honesty and values in general. Regarding physical form, they change completely, the training is demanding and hard, they give very flattering results. These results are in the mind, in the body and in the spirit, they acquire greater security and self-esteem. In the Dojang there is a positive change, many people arrive with pain, and work, health and family problems. Martial art makes them renew themselves and have a positive attitude from now on".
The president (Mr. Rodríguez) cites two cases regarding his students, worthy of sharing:
The first: "My first student, Roberto, I gave him classes in a high school. His parents asked me to do it because they told me that they wanted him to learn to defend himself and that he was very noble and has been humiliated by his classmates. He became an excellent martial artist and person, he is still noble, but he acquired the tools to improve the way he gets along with others, increasing his self-esteem and confidence. He has been practicing SMH for almost 20 years, the change has been remarkable and as a consequence, he started teaching with me. He currently has 2 schools and has already formed black belts, sowing the seed of the good path in his students. This activity is helping him to pay the college tuition fees of his two brothers and his own as well, thus leaving a life with values and principles".
The second: "is about a girl student who was 4 years old and suffered from epileptic seizures, her mother took her with us and begins to do Hapkido. After a few classes, the mother took her to the neurologist for a check-up, and the physician informed her that after having performed a skull tomography, the results shock him, since the injury had diminished, and she had no longer suffered from convulsive crises. The doctor asks about what she had been doing, and they say that only our martial art connecting in favor mind, body and spirit. The bewildered doctor only told the parents to keep doing it because her disease had been controlled; this is the transformation that the martial art is making in people when they practice Sin Moo Hapkido".
Hapkido began in the city of Puebla approximately 20 years ago with 10 students in its first month. As the discipline became known, which worked and stood out in the change for the benefit of the people who practiced it to improve mind, body and spirit, the business was started to serve others, increasing the number of students and Dojans. Currently there are more than 30 Dojans nationwide with a thousand students in total.
We live in a society with a lack of values and empathy, with the aforementioned martial art it is about contributing with a grain of sand to be able to modify the bad habits of people both physically and mentally, the main objective of the President of Sin Moo Hapkido in Mexico is (as he stated):
"I would like it to extend itself more for the service and help to others, we have had the opportunity to visit other countries where Hapkido is practiced and we have been recognized for the innovation that we carry, we not only have good practitioners of the martial art but also excellent human beings on a personal level. The main objective is to make better human beings, forged in discipline, integrity, honesty, perseverance. Fortunately, I have many students who are already professionals, non-corruptible people, who face things, save them from drugs. We live in a complicated country on many issues, but there is always a good path to follow and decide to stay in it, doing positive things for the people around you".
Hapkido longs to make better people, so that tomorrow, no matter what they study or where they develop or work, they are governed only by the best values to improve our Mexico, sowing more seeds.
