Dalvin Digital Design’s innovation begins with their desire to help small businesses who do not currently have enough capital on their own to build an online presence through applications, web development, photography and graphic design services. Small businesses can sometimes lack the knowledge on how to build this presence; this is exactly where Dalvin Digital Design becomes present. Dalvin Digital Design is distinct from other businesses that build websites for companies because they are inspired mainly by helping people in need. Dalvin came up with the idea for his business, because he was once in the shoes of the individuals he is helping. “I knew what it was like to want to establish your own business via the internet and social media but not have the knowledge or money to do so.” Dalvin Digital Design wants to grow and expand as a company and hopefully become one of the most well-known website/application building tools for people that do not have thousands of dollars to spend on this sort of technology.

Inspiration

Having been unexpectedly fired from a corporate internship with UPS, Davlin experienced a very low, humbling point in his career. This set back also drew a financial struggle as being an aspiring college student required funds for tuition, books, and other expenses that come with pursuing a higher education. Instead of allowing this negative event to shape the course of his future, Dalvin used this failure to drive the success of being the entrepreneur he is today. His highest moment of becoming an entrepreneur came from his lowest moment of getting fired.

In addition to his failure as an intern, growing up in a neighborhood where becoming a white collar worker was less than prominent and poverty rates were high, Dalvin knew he wanted to not only defy the normative but give back to his community as well. “Becoming an entrepreneur seemed like the secret to writing my own future.” After igniting this passion, he knew he wanted to help others like himself to discover their own passion, giving back to the community he came from as a young software programmer, by publishing articles of how he came to exist as a successful business operator. Software programming is not widely common or available to those who are not exposed to it. By creating these articles on his platform, Dalvin is helping to mend the gap that exists. Giving young minds the opportunity to flourish in struggling environments contributes to poverty and employment levels in the future. This passion along with a bigger picture mentality lit the fire that evolved into Dalvin Digital Design.

Not only does Dalvin’s business provide a service which results in small businesses becoming more successful, but they also strive to make an impact on the programming community by publishing articles that help educate young entrepreneurs. These articles inspire young minds to learn how to program and stress the importance of pursuing a career as software engineers. Davlin grew up in a neighborhood where many of his peers could not have even dreamed about the opportunity to have a such a professional and inspirational career such as an engineer. He wanted to help change that by making a difference in an area where not many people have the proper knowledge and education to pursue such a career.

This adds to the overall business of software programming by sparking interest in those who may not have had interest in the field otherwise. This benefits Dalvin’s business in more ways than one. This innovation helps expand his business to not only aid financially to small business but contribute to young impressionable minds as well. This spreads awareness to both his business and field as a whole.

In terms of making money, Dalvin Digital Design charges an upfront fee to users which covers the costs to produce the website and the applications in which his company provides. Dalvin’s company provides an expertise to a service in which many small and up and coming businesses lack. Following this initial fee is a lesser monthly charge which serves as a service fee. After the website and/or applications have been developed, the technicians are still working on continuing to develop the service they have provided. A maintenance fee is also added to make sure the website and/or applications are being kept up to relevant and consistent standards. Technicians of Dalvin’s company are always readily available to answer questions and provide users with walkthroughs and explanations. The maintenance and post development fees ensure that the service remains up to date and developed accurately. The business aims to create lasting relationships with the companies they serve and provide a premium service unique to small business.

Social and environmental benefit

Davlin Digital Design does many things in order to help small business grow their profits. This company provides full-time developers and graphic designers to businesses who cannot afford it. They also educate the aspiring youth to pursue a career in software engineering. In his own words, "My personal struggle and passion for engineering and helping others, ignited the idea to begin my very own company."
