Summary

Let Your Love Grow creates a living memorial, which means the company offers the safe transitioning of human and animal remains, whether cremation or full body burial, into organic matter that is beneficial to the environment. Now the company provides services in five countries and on three continents.

Innovation

This innovation provides a natural alternative to spreading ashes. Let Your Love Grow is the world's first patented all-organic mixture designed to offset the natural toxicity of ash and invite a new life to flourish. Cremated remains contain a pH and sodium level that is far too high for most plants. Adding them to any soil results in long-term harm. Let Your Love Grow is a special mixture designed to incorporate ashes into the soil to correct these imbalances and nourish plant life. This product was consciously designed with organic materials that naturally release the nutrients locked in cremated remains. The company values protecting the environment, which is why they also incorporate biodegradable packaging. Let Your Love Grow supports memorial plants that are as unique as the life that they symbolize. This can include planting a tree, starting a garden or growing a houseplant, etc. This choice is reserved for the individual and there are endless options for finding the perfect way to remember a life lived.

Inspiration

The married couple and co-founders Bob Jenkins and Annette Jenkins created Let Your Love Grow and developed this innovation out of the love for their dog who had passed away. The couple decided that they wanted to memorialize their dog in an environmentally positive way. Their purpose for creating this business was to create a living memorial that contributes to the environment as well as the grieving process for the living.

Overall impact

In the beginning of Let Your Love Grow, the intention of developing was to help process the co-founders' grief. Through this healing process, the couple has created a company and innovation that is international. Not only are the company's products environmentally friendly, but also provide a therapeutic experience and allow a positive outlet for grief by giving remains the chance to live again.

When asked "what was your highpoint in your career and developing this innovation?" the owner of the company referred to a memorial that was created for nineteen year old Mitchell, who had passed away from a very rare neurological condition. Mitchell's parents had decided that they did not want a burial for economic reasons, but wanted to create a memorial for Mitchell to honor his life and embrace Mitchell's legacy and the joyful memories they had shared together. Business benefit

Let Your Love Grow's innovation is an original idea that is supported by science to show its benefits in creating an environmentally positive option in the funeral industry. The company initially started out with the co-founders and has now built a team of forensic scientists. Two of these scientists are world-renowned for their research. This team has created a product that is universal.

Social and environmental benefit

Verde Products Inc. (a.k.a. Let Your Love Grow)'s mission and products provide an opportunity to conduct landmark research that is foundational to public health. Significant potential exists to improve the funeral industry beyond current practices by making current facilities operate more efficiently. In doing so, the company lessens the negative carbon and nutrient footprints that are formed by conventional practices.

Some practices that the company enforces include: using cutting-edge research to understand the environmental impact of disposing of human and animal remains, maintaining and promoting respect for all cultures and belief systems, and offering new, sustainable revenue streams to the funeral industry, particularly in regions where space is a limiting factor.
