As a market leader in China’s financial industry, CCB always puts efforts into social responsibility. CCB has published its corporate social responsibility report since 2006. CCB's responsibility practice focuses on three areas of innovation; environmental sustainability (i.e. green office building design, online banking service, and participation in the Earth Partner), social/community development (i.e. inclusive financial service, a charity run/walk, and simulating banking for students), and employee interest (i.e. diversity and equality). These campaigns support SDG 3, 5, 8, 12, and 13.

CCB promotes their e-banking services to support environmental protection. For example, CCB started to switch from paper statements to e-statements in 2009 and adopted mobile phone banking and Wechat banking to meet customers’ needs. This is the most satisfying community activity for myself, CCB will strive to engage in this meaningful function continuously.” Mr. Wong, the Senior Vice President of CCB said. The Lifeline Express is a charity that supports and funds an ophthalmology hospital train in rural China, which provides free cataract operations to low-income patients.
