Summary

Gender Neutral Apparel and Accessories for Infants and Toddlers.

Innovation

In the beginning, Adam Kings' mission was to find his son clothing that didn't heavily associate with one gender over the other, especially pieces that could be passed down to future siblings without explanation. Having worked in the fashion industry for years, Adam recognized the limitations in creating pieces for girls and boys. Today, Adam's business, Mooi Kind (meaning "Beautiful child" in Dutch), in Cleveland, Ohio, sells clothing made for infants and toddlers, with some adult size pieces which showcase words of solidarity to the gender neutral movement. One piece in particular includes the words, "Clothes Have No Gender." Recently, Adam began to ship tops with the word "Friend" with a safety pin attached, created from the discomfort within the United States and showing those in need that they have a friend. The proceeds for this shirt will go to the American Civil Liberties Union (ALCU). Adam hopes to live in a world where gender does not define who a person is, and that everyone will connect beyond the limitations of being a male or female in any setting. Since the start of his clothing line in 2014, Adam is now the father of two young boys, and Mooi Kind helps to sustain the longevity of outfits between his sons. Mooi Kind ships clothing globally and Adam is responsible for the production of each piece sold.
