Their innovation fulfills Sustainable Development Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).

It manufactures energy monitoring systems, diesel engine monitoring solutions, and smart metering solutions.

Energyly's IoT monitoring device gathers data from connected loads. An Inbuilt wireless gateway sends precise information on energy usage to Cloud via GPRS connectivity, includes a remote-control capability that enables you to turn "on" or "off" your generators from anywhere and schedule specific times to do it. The sensors gather common generator parameter data like fuel levels, battery voltage, oil pressure, engine temperature, generated output power, engine running time, mains and generator voltage and frequency, engine RPM, etc, and send it to the IoT platform, through a gateway. Machine learning algorithms analyze that information and the resulting report will be shown on the user dashboard to monitor and reacts rapidly.

Inspiration

Mr. Dayala Nathan worked at an extremely technologically enhanced manufacturing unit with powerful machinery and fewer staff requirements. However, the unit he was working at was shunned because of the excess electricity it was consuming compared to the other units. This problem did not concern him as he was a part of the manufacturing department and not the Finance department. However, soon he was handed over the responsibility of making the financial decisions for the unit he was working for.

As he was now accountable for it, he decided to look into the facts and figures and try to develop some data and techniques that would help reduce the energy consumption and thus reduce data. He used simple analytics and found that the unit was consuming way more than the amount of energy a room with powerful machinery and around 25 employees should be consuming. His sharp mind and adequate exploration helped him reduce the energy consumption and the costs by approximately 30%, which was not only profitable for the company but also need of the hour. That is when he thought to himself, “Hey, I am no electrical guy, I am nothing, but I just did simple analytics and found that we could do this.” This was the idea which he carried with himself a long way.

Energyly is one of a kind cutting edge technology company. Its innovative device helps save energy, which is crucial for achieving sustainability in the near future. The company is one of the leaders in energy power-saving devices in the country. The customer base of Energyly consists of Maruti Suzuki, Luxor, and much more, which means it helps organizations in every sector reduce their unnecessary energy consumption and ultimately help companies achieve SDG12 and SDG7 in the long run. With companies, Energyly is also helping residential areas reduce their energy consumption.

Energyly, one of the first projects with Vergo Polymer resulted in around Rs. 30 lakh worth of energy consumption reduction for 2 to 5 years. This boosted Energyly’s morale and profit and gave them the confidence to help more industries and companies.

For its energy-saving efforts, the company was conferred the Best Start-up in Energyly Sector in the CII Startprebuer Event. Energyly has innovated and paved a new path for sustainable and minimal devices that use very little hardware, helping and converting companies to software and cloud-based solutions.

With revenues of around $5,00,000 and 12-20 employees, Energyly currently provides services in Delhi, Maharashtra, Dubai, and Russia. They are planning to sharpen their focus and increase their impact on a single area rather than spreading out and making only surface-level changes. Also, Energyly says that earlier, their products focused on Hardware. But the CEO of Energyly, Mr. Dayal Nathan, quotes, “Hardware is nothing, but analytics and deriving insights are where the magic lies,” implying that the company was quick to realize this potential in energy measurement systems.

Energyly, with its award-winning Utility mobile app – GMASA, can disaggregate user’s energy-consuming devices by recognizing appliances with differing energy consumption. It uses signatures and gives comparative power analytics data. Finally, CEO aptly concludes by saying, “Innovation and continuous development are the order of the day for Energyly.

Social and environmental benefit

Any industry in India, for instance, consumes 100 units of power to make a product; on the other side, the advanced country in Europe consumes only 70 units. We are energy inefficient by 30% because of various factors like we do not use the right machinery or we have over-designed our resources. "There is a large scope for energy efficiency in our country” - Dayala Nathan.

Looking at the impact on the society that Energyly has made, it is proud to say that it has since the beginning been spreading the message of energy efficiently with hands-on practical data. Energyly believes that though people aren’t spending much time thinking about energy savings, in the long run, awareness will definitely be higher. And with greater awareness in the future will definitely pave a path to a sustainable society.

When it comes to its impact on the environment, Energyly estimates that it has saved at least 9 million units of electricity to date. In addition to the product portfolio or the range of its services, the company believes that it can help reduce the consumption of energy and reduce costs.
