Innovation in Telemedicine and Healthcare

Inspiration

The founder Shubham Shashank believes that health digitalization is the need of the hour in a country like India and that along with the present situation of the covid -19 pandemic is what inspired him to pursue such a business venture.

Mr. Shubham also believes in building a sophisticated data analytics platform in the health care sector to predict macro trends that might occur in the future. He mentions that "the covid-19 pandemic can be forecasted and prevented if we had a good data analytical solution".

He is also motivated by the young students in the rural areas which are driving him to focus on their well-being by bringing in the School health and hygiene management program.

Overall impact

One of the SDGs is good health and well-being. Today, a lot of importance is being given to digitalization. Digitalising health is one of the priority sectors of government and is what cloud spiral is focused on. It will not only improve the kind of service people get but also the reach of health services. Digitalising healthcare will help to reach rural areas where usually there is no or negligible access. Reduce maternal mortality. It is focusing on digitalizing pediatric ICUs to reduce maternal mortality for which they have collaborated with AIIMS Patna using a Hub and Spoke Model. In this model, district hospitals will have to digitalize their systems in the next 8 months. Eventually, it would help such hospitals to connect with city doctors leading to better treatment and lowering maternal and child mortality rates. Another important role of the company is reducing household expenditure. Another major impact of the company is public awareness. People are more aware of their health. Earlier people used to avoid going for treatment in rural areas. Now seeing the advancement and reduced cost, people have become genuinely interested in seeking treatment. It is also providing efficient supply chain management tools to the government through health data analytics. With better supply chain management, there is a lot of cost-saving in terms of supply and wastage of medicines as well as spending on infrastructure.

Business benefit

The company was founded in 2020 and is still in its beginning stages at this moment. However, from the interview with the founder, it was evident that the company is gaining a lot of experience in supply chain and procurement.

The company also manufactures various innovative healthcare products which it sells to its customers in the healthcare domain. This has increased their revenues. Apart from that, with immense hard work and amidst incomprehensible adversity, they have gained expertise in community health and lifestyle management, R & D on technologies in healthcare, etc in a very short period.

The health tech start-up has also grown from a company of just 2 to a company of 30+ employees.

Social and environmental benefit

Cloudspital Pvt Ltd is working very hard to digitize the health of 726 districts in India in association with AIIMS Patna. Being a health tech startup, the company has played an instrumental role in reducing infant and maternal mortality rates in the country. The startup is also striving to increase the reach of healthcare facilities at the grassroots levels by building connections with better city doctors and nodal health professionals. Moreover, considering that the maximum population in India depends on wages, the cloud spiral has been successful in reducing the household expenditure on health in the rural areas of India.

The health startup is trying to improve poor health-seeking behavior by facilitating regular health checkups for school students, thereby improving the health of the rural children of our nation. Cloudspital is not only helping the inhabitants in rural areas, but it is also helping the government by providing a comprehensive data analytics platform to manage its supply chain by optimizing costs on infrastructure and resources. This data bank also allows the government to predict macro trends that may occur in the future.
