In implementing Green Construction, PTPP makes planning and management of construction projects that can minimize the impact of the construction process on the environment that meets the 3R elements—reduce, reuse, and recycle—so as to create an environmentally friendly construction implementation that is efficient in the use of energy and resources and low in cost.
PTPP's Green Construction Program is implementing a construction system that is environmentally sound and responsible for every project carried out by the company, which includes:
a. The use of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" materials in the field, which will cut down on construction waste.
b. The use of wastewater construction (basement work and bored pile foundation) for maximum return to the ground, refinement process, and to be used for field construction activities or communities, so as to reduce the amount of wasted water in the city's waterways.
c. The consistent separation of organic waste, nonorganic waste, and B3 waste, as well as their management and upkeep, until the process is used again by the right people.
d. The use of biopory wells for the composting process of organic waste generated during the construction process.
PTPP also implements environmental controls to control emissions, vibrations, and water quality. PTPP does this routinely by monitoring the existing environmental aspects caused by project activities.
The growth of Indonesia's state economic income and government policies related to infrastructure development have an effect on the number of projects carried out by companies.
The company, in this case, is worried about the decline in environmental quality in the world caused by project work. Companies think about how to work on a project but can reduce the impact on the environment and save on the use of environmental resources.
The demand for fulfillment and application of environmentally friendly concepts that continues to increase is met by the company by implementing green construction.
Green building could have a long-term impact on stakeholders and other companies directly tied to the construction industry.
The growth of efficiency in the use of electrical energy, water, materials, and fuel creates added value for contractors through the adoption of green construction in projects. In addition, it will lower construction production costs and increase earnings for those in the construction industry.
The application of green construction brings business benefits to the company, both directly and indirectly. This application gives the company a brand as a contractor who not only builds but also thinks about a sustainable environment.
This branding increases competitiveness and certainly has an impact on the number of projects that the company gets. This, of course, also has an impact on company profits. The project owner believes in PTPP as a contractor that implements green construction consistently.
The implementation of green construction at PTPP has an impact on the environment around the project being carried out and has an impact on the environment in general. The application of Green Construction can save energy use up to 30%, save water use up to 50%, save waste handling costs up to 90%, and reduce carbon gas emissions by up to 35%.
