Innovation

The “Secretaría de Bienestar”, as its name indicates, oversees coordinating actions to ensure the well-being of the population, the reduction of inequalities and human development, and thus improve the standard of living of the communities, especially that of the marginalized.

On this occasion, we were able to interview Mr. Benjamín Alvarado Montiel, who was able to tell us about some of the innovation projects implemented in recent years.

These programs have and continue to change the lives of thousands of families and entire communities in the country. Also, these programs have changed and are changing the lives of thousands of families and entire communities across the country. These programs have been created with different purposes for different needs of citizens. Programs for the development of sustainable communities can be identified, such as the "Sowing Life Program" or programs for the well-being of the elderly, which have a focus on economic support and health, supporting them with pensions and/or food pantries and free services of health improving the quality of life of many of the elderly nationwide.

Inspiration

The “Secetaría de Bienestar” is constantly in the search, investigation, and creation of new innovative programs to satisfy each one of the needs of each one of the Mexican citizens. Recently, given the pandemic that is being experienced worldwide, the “Secretaría de Bienestar” immediately detected the lack of jobs in the country, acting quickly with the recently established programs but with significant changes in the way of implementing it, always opting for the health of its workers and citizens. These programs seek to improve the country's economy little by little, but to obtain the desired results, it was necessary to start improving our microeconomy, made up of all small and medium-sized companies of all types of businesses nationwide, which at the end of the day, are the foundation of the economy of Mexico.

Overall impact

The impact that these programs have generated is that, in addition to providing entrepreneurs with financial assistance, they have given them motivation and security to be able to carry out both their business and their family obligations, eliminating psychological barriers that may lead them to think that they do not have a solution to the problems they are facing. These different aids show them fully achievable solutions that at the same time promote citizens' proactivity and entrepreneurship.

Business benefit

The same “Secretaría de Bienestar” was able to implement different new work methodologies digitally, which, according to our interviewee, will be useful in the same way when everything returns to normal, so they can carry out their daily tasks optimizing resources, time, and human capital so this is a benefit too for the company.

Social and environmental benefit

There are at least three programs for different current needs of citizens, but these needs arise from the current Covid-19 situation. One of these programs, which goes hand in hand with the “Secretaría de Economía”, offers the well-known "Tandas de Bienestar" which are financial aid for all those small and medium-sized businesses that have made a budget and personnel adjustments. This program also helps the unemployed due to this same situation. These programs have been implemented in the virtual modality since the “Secretaría de Bienestar” itself has been in charge of generating the capacity to effectively implement each of its programs in this modality.
