Innovation in oh my COCO came from the idea to approach companies within the coconut industry in order to use its waste (coconut shell) to make its products.
Indonesia, Philippines and India account for almost 75% of world coconut production. As a result, oh my COCO raw material came from the major factories in South East Asia that produce coconut cream, milk and oil.
In many countries, coconut shells are subject to open burning which contributes significantly to CO2 and methane emissions. Instead of making this damage, oh my COCO offers an environmental solution to the coconut companies.
Mariana Rodriguez, CEO and Founder of oh my COCO , started this company in January 2017 due to her interest in ecofriendly products and “things made out of plants”.
While doing a deep research in ecofriendly products she found that in other parts of the world coconut bowls were in high demand and that their elaboration and sale had a triple benefit.
