Innovation

Daniel Richardsson has together with friends and fools established a business where the ambition is to strengthen people into success. For almost a decade Styrkebaserad AB has grown into an established business, where they guide managers, co-workers, parents into success using Appreciative Inquiry methods along with influences of positive psychology and strength based development.

With Styrkebaserad, Daniel wishes to produce accessible methods, customized to the Swedish language, in order to create a strength based sustainable movement and to attract businesses, organizations and people into positive changes. Along with playful activities during implementation, Styrkebaserad AB provides lectures, courses, workshops, and summits inspired by Appreciative Inquiry methods.

Styrkebaserad AB and Daniel’s work shows how desire to make a profit and the wish of doing greater good can be combined. The culture and spirit encourage and embrace other people to succeed with love, warmth and supportive gestures, and with a non-competitive helping hand. Styrkebaserad breathes genuine joy for other people’s success.

Inspiration

Daniel's inspiration and drive come from the wish of helping people to succeed and to guide them to perform at their very best. Appreciative Inquiry provides a usable language, once translated into Swedish, for this.

Daniel's inspiration is "to see people and organizations develop; managers change the way of working in companies, students perform [better]; makes it all meaningful and valid and it is cool to be a part of the transformation."

Overall impact

Styrkebaserad has inspired a movement in research and academia as well as in the business sector. Since 2010 the Department of Quality Technology and Management, Mechanical Engineering, and Mathematics at Mid University in Sweden have under Quality Technology and Management contained an academic course in Appreciative Inquiry for strength based change management. Approximately 30 students per school year from the public sector, companies and consultants have taken this course, and contribute to the dissemination of Appreciative Inquiry methods in Sweden. The knowledge, insights and awareness that are given these students broadens their possibility to facilitate positive strength based change management in different businesses and society fields. So far around 100 students from all over Sweden have refined their knowledge into positive change focus and are ambassadors of Appreciative Inquiry methods in their own context with good support from Styrkebaserad.

Styrkebaserad has also contributed to bring the Appreciative Inquiry Certificate in Positive Business and Society Change to Sweden. In partnership with Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management and for the first time in Sweden, Styrkebaserad enabled former students to attain deeper knowledge and understanding of the AI-methods and practice.

In its own business Styrkebaserad AB uses Appreciative Inquiry methods to guide other businesses, companies, and organizations into strength based sustainable change.

Social and environmental benefit

Through Styrkebaserad AB via Daniel Richardsson and Mid University approximately 30 students a year get educated in Appreciative Inquiry methods. Mid University runs the course on an online learning platform which enables diversity in the proliferation of knowledge. The students that attend the course are active in public school systems, public healthcare, self-employed, and managers of a variety of companies from large to small that offer services as well as products. The cooperation between Mid University and Styrkebaserad AB is spreading the knowledge of Appreciative Inquiry and teaching students the power of appreciative questioning towards positive movement and how to co-create positive change.

In a non-profit future dream, Styrkebaserad wishes and hopes for an Appreciative Inquiry movement in several of the universities and within educational institutions in Sweden.

Styrkebaserad increases people's and organization's awareness around environmental issues when in service always introducing the wholeness in people, planet, profit and purpose towards strength based sustainable change. The beauty with Styrkebaserad and Daniel’s work is how profit and the wish to do greater good are combined.
