In 2001, Mr. Ridwan Hasan Saputra built an educational institution, named "Klinik Pendidikan MIPA", that freed his students from tuition fees. Finding that this approach did not work as expected, in 2003 he decided to make tutoring with a flexible tuition school's fee. The sincere payment method has been applied until now with several branches spread across various regions in Indonesia.

The application of this payment system is able to inspire those who are rich to pay more than those who come from the middle and lower economic levels. Those who do not have money have no worry because they can still study at KPM.

Before the class starts, each student bring a sealed envelope containing money. They put it in the box provided. The box is called Keropak. The money collected in the box is then used for various operational costs, including teacher salaries.

Inspiration

Through Keropak, KPM teaches us how sincerity becomes the basic for all activities. In fact, most people at KPM show better attitude. Parents value the education for their students with sincerity to God. Students are taught that the knowledge are not from the teachers, but God.

Overall impact

Initially, Keropak system was seen as illogical because the society is already indoctrinated in the understanding that "sincere" is the same as "the smallest". Sincere means careless, which is important to pay.

KPM instilled in parents, so they could pay as much as they could. As much as is not as small as possible, but how much the ability of parents to appreciate the knowledge and energy of the people who have been educating their children.

In order to instill this sincere value, KPM does not hesitate to be firm. KPM requires every parent to attend a meeting held by KPM management. If they are not present, their children will immediately be expelled from the institution.

Now KPM is growing rapidly. Its branches are spread all over Indonesia. In fact, KPM is worldwide. The world knows that KPM students have won many medals in the Math Olympics.

Business benefit

KPM successfully achieved result in the international Mathematics and Science competition titled International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO) in 2017 in Singapore. The team won 3 silver and 2 bronze for Mathematics, and 2 silver and 1 bronze for Science.

In 2018 International Mathematics Contest Singapore (IMCS), KPM team at sent 87 students. The team won 9 gold medals, 17 silver medals, 36 bronze medals and 25 merits.

IMSO Vietnam in 2019 was participated by 192 Mathematics Participants and 161 Science Participants from 24 Countries, namely South Africa, United States, Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria, China, Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Vietnam and Indonesia. KPM won 7 bronze medals for science, and 1 silver and 6 bronze medals for mathematics.

Social and environmental benefit

Parents and government recognize that sincerity is the basis for many activities and achievements. Keropak has taught how sincerity impacts achievement. Now more and more parents are sending their children to study at KPM.

Parents do not only give some money to their children and then put it in Keropak, but are also actively involved in every activity organized by KPM. The government is increasingly supporting KPM activities to always participate in championships abroad.
