Summary

Since the beginning, ARO incorporated Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) into its core values to help solve the UN SDGs. They recognized that every choice they made - from the materials they used, the production practices of the suppliers, and the actual chemical recipes - could make a difference. This led to their commitment to sustainable practices such as the implementation of a bottle reuse program, where ARO developed pick-up mechanisms of the specific product bottles in order to reclaim and reuse the bottles, reducing waste and promoting a more environmentally friendly way of consuming.

Innovation is an environmentally friendly product for cleaning surfaces and has evolved to be a sustainable product, giving the product solutions for cleaning and preserving the environment, protecting the environment by reducing harmful chemicals and adopting recyclable packaging.This innovation is characterized by providing safe products to the environment for those interested in preserving the environment. Innovation arose from the company's values and also the discovery that the market needs environmentally friendly products. 

The founders of the company noted that customers want environmentally friendly products. Because of this, they tried to develop and work on sustainable products, preserving the environment at the same time with good quality and high performance.

This innovation involved three founders, José Antonio Ortiz Figueroa, Xavier Alarcón and Antonio Ricard, developed environmentally friendly products, achieved the objectives of the company, managed the company's enterprise, and Xavier contributed to the distribution of products and customer building, António fills human resources insurance, all the team worked beautifully to create market change through sustainable products. Innovation is linked to a goal in the company where their goal was to promote social and environmental responsibility, as the company ARO is interested in improving the environment.

Inspiration

The idea for ARO evolved from the shared values among its founders and deeper insights of the market. Initially, one of the company's founders, Xavier Alarcón, already had a portfolio in the city for cleaning products. His experience uncovered a gap in the market for sustainable products. This initial insight sparked a conversation about starting a company that offers a broader range of cleaning products but focusing on commitment to the environment as well as the people themselves.

Once the deal was closed, the partners invested in a big warehouse and a production lab, allowing them to discover new and more efficient approaches to sustainable practices. These included designing strategies to reclaim and reuse specific bottles for specific chemical products, carrying routine visits to the factories suppliers’ in order to make sure their processes are sustainable, consistently experimenting on new sustainable products and lots of research for the most eco-friendly products. Although this was aligned with some challenges as mentioned in the interview, the continuous commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility positioned ARO ultimately in the market.

The founder’s primary motivation for ARO’s innovation arose from the need to develop environmentally friendly cleaning products that would minimize environmental impact while satisfying the market demand for sustainable alternatives. The aim is to reduce chemical waste, lower the ecological footprint, and promote responsible consumption practices.Additionally, another motivation of the innovative company was to ensure customer trust and safety. By designing products with lower chemical risks and reusing materials, ARO aims to promote environmental protection and ensure product safety. This approach met the increasing consumer demand for sustainability and aligned with the founders vision to create a lasting positive impact on society and the planet.

“I think the main motivation that drive me was the values that the three partners discussed. These revolved around the fact that our main value would be its people. This, and that we would be a business ecological products that cares and fights for the environment.”

The reusable bottle for example, cuts on plastic waste and safe chemical formulas reduces environmental harm from overuse or improper handling. This being said it quickly enhances AROs reputation, leading to more opportunities to lower investment costs. The long term efforts are to be a sustainable and a profitable business. By carefully selecting the safest chemicals and conducting comprehensive testing on raw materials, ARO aims to reduce harmful emissions and promote a healthier, cleaner ecosystem. Each product is created with the well-being of both the customer and the planet in mind, demonstrating ARO’s dedication to making every bottle a symbol of positive environmental impact. However, ARO didn’t stop at changing the way they operate internally; they extended outward, embracing Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals. They collaborated with customers, suppliers, and communities to advance a shared vision of sustainability. By building these partnerships, ARO has led a significant impact, inspiring others in their industry to prioritize environmentally friendly practices.
