The software is usable in almost every type of company that uses information to function. This software makes it easily accessible especially from mobile devices, allowing the workflow to stay consistent and efficient. It can be a simple hub just for manuals and training guides or can be extensive and specific to what you need.

Riggsbee mentioned that he and his team uploaded an analysis of every presidential state of the union address from President Washington to President Trump, along with every inaugural address to isolate speeches. But it’s not just simply a search experience, you are greeted with a map, a collection of keywords and a time reference of each of the presidents and the number of pages of each. Then you can ask the software questions. He mentioned that they had asked how many presidents have mentioned a peaceful transition of power and it was only one person- Trump -in his inaugural address. It makes the content very accessible and interacting with it can help discover things about the information that you couldn’t have before.

There is a google aspect to it but there is also a visual component to it that makes it more user-friendly. They do not necessarily provide the visuals and such, but they provide the software to make all the visuals and make it easier for people to use the data constructively. This correlates to UN Goal 12.6 because Gadget Software’s clientele will be able to adopt the sustainable practice of less paper usage and integrate information into their reporting cycle in a sustainable manner. Likewise, Gadget Software’s future goals help stimulate UN Goal 9.C as they look to make their software universal and collaborate with larger businesses. However, their target market currently consists of smaller-scale businesses because it is easier to target smaller companies and gives Gadget Software a chance for ‘the people’ to get the gist of its innovation on a smaller scale.

Inspiration

What inspired Gadget Software’s innovation came from Riggsbees’s desire to make document data easier to read on mobile devices. He was already working in the data industry and he saw the lack of data transformation with documents. The core concept was introduced to him by an investor at his previous company which was transforming data on a mobile deceive. He then started thinking about which market could benefit the most from transforming data. He then decided to focus on documents. He still believes that this documentation transformation is still underserved. “One of the investors in that company Webtail who is the CEO of this company said he got some technology and it happened to be mobile low code no code which is the foundation” (Riggsbee). The innovation naturally emerged into the organization there the need to help break large documents into smaller parts which is what they have patented. The motivation for this innovation was to use a mobile low code no code in a market where it could be benefited the most. What inspired Riggsbee to join the team at Gadget Software is that he is helping an underserved market through the use of their technology “It happened to be that one to the most underserved markets for mobile happens to be one of the largest collections in the world which is documents” (Riggsbee). Gadget Software’s mission is to build innovative software solutions that enable authentic digital transformation across multiple industries. Therefore, their innovation correlates with their purpose because through their technology they could transform any companies’ documents.

Overall impact

The overall impact of Gadget Software is to build innovative software that enables authentic digital transformation across multiple industries. It came across because of the need to break down large documents into smaller documents, with the necessary adjustment to fit in smaller screens, such as tablets and smartphones. Transforming manuals, reports, contracts, research, and more documents into flexible data. Making it easy to view and analyze. Moving away from printing and making information more accessible for their customers was the idea that pushed Maxwell Riggsbee to innovate this company and make document data easier to read on mobile devices. The short term effects of this innovation are that businesses can use this software and better manipulate their business proposition. A prime example of this is the application Greystone in the IOS App Store. Gadget Software has enabled this small-scale company to withhold an approach to its business that minimizes the use of paper. As a result, the company because of its ease of use, experiences high sales.

The long-term effects include making the innovation a common part of any business’s functionality. In particular, making the innovation so well known that paper usage reduces in local areas over the course of the next few years; In addition, going paperless would also be an improvement to the environment, reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Society is advancing towards the concept of the ‘smart-home’ and Gadget Softwares innovation is certainly a branch of this advancement. Evidence of this innovation will soon be evident through Gadget Software’s recent partnership with a large hospital. Hospital records are often complex and require a ton of paperwork. Gadget Software’s innovation being put to use in a hospital will show how effective this innovation in reaching its long-term goals.

Business benefit

This innovation benefits the business because it has opened up a broad spectrum of opportunities for them. This innovation is not geared towards a specific area. But instead, it can be utilized in many different occupations. It has created opportunities to connect with customers of many different occupational backgrounds. So their business opportunities will only grow. If one occupational sector sees a drop in its industry, Gadget Software will always have other sectors to depend on because of the flexibility of its innovation. Not only that but, the innovation has encouraged employee growth within the business. Gadget Software implements a clan culture and clan cultures, in general, are more likely to deliver better quality and innovation along with morale and people development within the employees. It allows people to expand their knowledge and be curious without the fear of upsetting their bosses. If the ideas are not beneficial to the company presently, they can be used later down the road. There is almost no room for impairment. Employees are encouraged to take ‘risks’ and experiment with new techniques. The innovation that Gadget Software has introduced is new and for it to become the norm, it requires people to expand on the knowledge gained and achieve the ‘unachievable’. Even with ‘failed’ achievements, they can use these failures for another project.

Most information is delivered inadequately in the sense that it has not been properly translated into terms that the reader, the consumer of this information, can understand. Gadget Software aims to provide software that not only helps the less informed reader understand complex information delivered from a more knowledgeable source but also creates a way for both the reader and publisher to interact with the content in more productive ways that are conducive to further understanding the information. In society, knowledge is power and we are only as intelligent as our resources from which we derive our knowledge. If experts and researchers wanted to explain complex information to the general public, then they would first have to explain the subsidiary concepts and processes that led to their findings which can increase the possibility of misinterpretation by the reader. Misinterpreted information can lead to a multitude of errors in the long-term some of which may have harmful effects on society and/or the environment. The significance of this innovative software is that it “helps the content match the reader” and seeks to foster a more fluid flow of information between executive managers to low-level employees and also reduce the amount of time used trying to decipher complex documents which would allow for more efficient use of time management.

As for the benefits to the environment, Gadget Software aims to reduce the complexity of physical documents and turn them into content that is available to folks in a feasible manner. They want to provide something that is google-like for documents and is visually intriguing. Sort of like a portal that is easier to understand and manipulate while making content accessible to people in a way that they can understand them. As a result of Gadget Softwares technology, companies/folks will shift more towards technology and as a result, reduce physical documents. Paper usage will decrease because of the simplicity of Gadget Software’s innovation.
