Magno is also a means to promote the sustainable use of natural resources for every tree used. Currently Magno industry even has its own tree seedlings which are then distributed to the community to be replanted. Magno also has a tag line that is "less wood, more work; cut less, plant more. "
After graduating from the science of industrial design at ITB, Singgih S. Kartono, the creator of Magno radio, wanted to do something to help her small village in Java, Indonesia. Concern about the slow growth of life and economy in Kandangan village encouraged Mr. Singgih to use his knowledge, skills and experience to build his home village. Finally in 2004 he began to establish Magno in his hometown.
Magno Radio is built on a philosophical basis focusing on the long-term goals of the plan by engaging the participation of the local community. Most of the workers and sources of wood used are from the surrounding area. Currently around 35 residents have been employed in Magno. With the establishment of this company automatically become the growth factor of Kandangan village because of the opening of new job fields for the local people.
In addition to promote the economy of the village, Magno is also very much concerned about the sustainability of the nature. Magno feels a big responsibility for the environment, because the product of Magno itself mostly using wood base material. Magno greatly maintains the effectiveness and efficiency in using wood materials, so there is almost no waste. With the tag line that is "less wood-more work, cut less-plant more." From the tag line we can see that Magno is concerned about environmental sustainability. In addition Magno also has a replanting seeds program. It is intended that there be a substitute for every tree that Magno uses in every radio production. These tree seedlings are not only the same ones used in radio production, but there are also various types of plants that grow fast so that people can easily see the results. Magno also monitors every seed that is submitted to the community will be planted and not thrown away.
In addition Magno also has educational programs to farmers in the area of mountain slopes where previously farmers only planted tobacco is now invited to plant a hard plant that is intended to land on the slopes of the mountain is not easily eroded landslides. Currently the program is followed by 20 farmers. In addition to the creation of employment with the production of radio, Magno also has developed the surrounding community through Papringan Market initiation. Pasar Papringan means Pasar which is located in bamboo garden. Magno wants to change the earliest views of a bamboo plantation originally synonymous with a dark, dirty, dumpster turned into a clean place and can be used for community activities especially to improve the economy of the surrounding community. Through Papringan Market, the community can get a new source of income outside the habits of local residents who beekrja as farmers.
Inspired by the condition of his hometown village where his economic progress is still weak. Singgih tried to use his knowledge, skills and experience to build the economy in his village. Finally in 2004 he started to establish Magno in his hometown.
In addition to being inspired in village development, due to Magno products that mostly use wood materials, Magno also feels responsible for the environment. Therefore there are two principles that are firmly held by Magno in his production. The first is "Less Wood More Works", a bit of wood for more work results. The main factor in the destruction of nature is the way people live. They consume excessive natural material. With the motto Less Wood More Work means that Magno uses a bit of wood for his radio production. Within a year every Magno worker needs only 2 trees to produce a radio where the total of Magno's radio production in a year is about 1800 radios. The second is "Cut Less Plant More", They cutting down less and planting more . Magno always emphasizes the principle that every use of wood in its production Magno has two obligations that must be fulfilled, namely the financial obligation of paying money to the timber seller. While the second obligation is with nature where transactions with nature can not be paid with money but with the same material that is through the re-planting of trees.
Impact of this innovation is of course people around the area Kandangan get new jobs. In addition, with the program of tree planting and education of tree planting on the slopes of Sumbing mountain that has been done by Magno will have an impact on the sustainability of nature.
Impact from this Magno can be seen from the condition of Kandangan village's with an advanced economy and better human resources and also the well maintained condition of nature.Magno currently employs approximately 30 workers, where the worker comes from the area around Magno's headquarter. With what Magno has done through the production process that prioritizes the Less Wood More Works and Cut Less Plant More principles, this is certainly a factor that benefits society and nature.
Magno gives many contributions to social society and nature. For societal, this innovation will keep the people's relationships as the team to produce the best product by using wood material (not much waste of wasted wood). While for the environment this innovation gives a big contribution to the environment because with what is done by Magno the preservation of nature is maintained by replanting the tree seedlings.
