Plaquimet is an organization that through its leadership in innovation and in coordination with composite materials transcended its limits and evolved into what we now know as "wet core".
They sought to maintain the human quality, professional generation of bonds of value and confidence creating integrated and sustainable solutions for all humanity.
Innovation is the main driving force behind this project, which is fundamental for the construction industry, where industrialization has a lot to improve its practices.
The wet core was created thinking of optimizing the consumption of materials to avoid waste and debris. The main material is fiberglass and resins, the walls are sandwich panels of that material with polyurethane padding.
Being made from composite materials, it does not generate waste or requires cleaning or removal of materials and carries practically zero maintenance. In addition, no water supply or paint is needed for installation.
It solves the functions of bath and the kitchen facilities and laundry of a house in a single element.
It can reduce up to 40% the work time, making the delivery of social housing is with electrical installation, sewage, hot and cold water.
It begins in the year 1970, when a man named Hugo began to be the main actor of his own dreams creating, at his young age of 20 years, the chemical compounds that today are the basis of a family legacy that has passed on to his son.
His son, Eric and a great team of professionals are those who today, maintain in his company the solid and ethical values transmitted. Due to the changes that the world faces, they decided to go beyond just being marketers of the raw material in a competition game only for the price of a stock, finding to give a solution of greater value to great problems of humanity, such as lack of hygiene and housing.
Through technological innovation and seeking to overcome the basic mental models established, add to the change of paradigm presenting a humid nucleus, which requires an immense work of engineering and previous development to achieve prefabricate in this unit the Humid rooms of a house. Kitchen, bathroom and laundry.
This idea is the beginning of a change in the modes of construction and can lead to the urbanization of many places that live in extreme poverty in an easier and faster way, creating sustainable cities, where we will find the change that the planet needs, a change that will certainly generate a before and after. We can say that it is the "Heart of the House", prepared to be adapted in the construction.
In Argentina, there is an estimated housing deficit in 3 million units. The demand grows at a rate of approximately 40,000 homes per year, while they are built no more 90,000 a year.
On the other hand, with traditional processes and materials, each house requires construction times that usually take between 9 and 12 months.
With the latent need to incorporate innovative processes and materials in order to propose real solutions to this structural problem in Argentina, the “Conín”, was the one who collaborated most to highlight the importance of solutions to child health and nutrition.
The lack of adequate hygiene and services affects both the health and the food of the people, limiting their performance. However, it is in the children where these deficiencies are even more limiting, since the poor hygiene conditions could affect their cognitive development during the first years, conditioning their future.
The creation of these composite modules can generate a radical change in the current construction mode with the following advantages:
• Energy efficiency from its design and the use of materials that require Very low amount of energy, allows the air conditioning in an isolated way of the external climatic factors. This feature makes them ideal for any geographic environment.
• Design flexibility is designed to suit any design. After installed you can complete the house with the desired material: brick, wood, concrete, iron, glass, etc. the module comes out of the factory with electrical, sanitary and gas installations, ready to be connected on site with factory quality control. Complying with all IRAM standards and with the National technical Aptitude Certificate.
• Quick installation the wet core has been designed to be easily installed thus achieving a time economy of up to 40% in hand availability, increasing productivity and allowing a shorter constructive cycle.
• Sustainable the humid core was created thinking about optimizing the consumption of materials to avoid waste and debris. When made from composite materials, it does not generate waste or require cleaning on site.
• Water saving the use of composite materials drastically reduces the use of water, since its manufacture in the industrial plant and its installation on the site, does not require the resource. This is why with each installed core we save 1323 liters of drinking water.
Wet core has three different kits, these are the basic kit, with optional, complete. Its amount varies.
Basic kit costs USD 7516
Optional KIT USD 8863
Complete KIT USD 12815.
A brief summary of the main results financed that we can mention is that there are good direct margins in our own products, decreasing by incorporating third-party parts.
The industrial business of scale: although with 1000 annual units the project is profitable and repays the investments, the increase of volume greatly enhances the results.
The capital needs where working capital is much more important than investments are a very sensitive variable for the project.
The basic sanitary module resolves in an area of 2.86 by 2.80 meters in plant and in a single element the functions of bath, kitchen facilities and a laundry of a house, has a full cost of 7,000 dollars in its basic version. In case of higher quality coatings and finishes, its value climbs to 10,800 dollars.
More than ten million people do not have adequate health services as part of a housing deficit that has been in Argentina for decades. This is why they developed a product that really intervenes and accelerates the constructive processes. In addition, by shortening the times, at the same time that normally make 10 houses could be built 3 or 4 more. This implies that there will be more workers to develop more houses, reducing huge gaps of inequality that exist around the world.
