Inspiration

Growing up in an Asian-American household, Thai Cao said he “always valued education over everything.” He found that having to read for class was tedious, especially when educators would quiz his knowledge on the main themes and concepts from assigned readings. He felt that there must be a better, faster, and more efficient way to grasp the material, other than reading a book from start to finish. Websites like SparkNotes and CliffsNotes offered summaries and other study guides for literature. With the emergence of advanced AI, Cao thought that these services could be improved and more specialized on a student-to-student basis.

Overall impact

Mindgrasp AI was founded by a group of college students, for college students. Since its primary goal was oriented around improving the quality and efficiency of education that we are receiving, the primary target market was our generation of students, particularly Generation Z. This outlook has allowed for the product to expand to not only students but also educators at universities around the US, showing how dynamic of an innovation it is. Thai mentioned that one of the most mind-blowing realizations was seeing the tool used in foreign countries where they don’t even speak the language it was intentionally designed for. In light of this recent growth internationally, the potential avenues are endless.

In the short-term, Thai mentioned that his biggest accomplishment was creating this tool in its MVP stage and officially seeing it complete the tasks it was designed for. As the company continues to develop the product, it will only get better and useful which will allow for it to evolve into a product that becomes normalized in our education systems. As AI has been the center of attention in recent times, with the widespread usage of platforms such as ChatGPT, Mindgrasp AI has the potential to expand into a plethora of educational functions, and potentially even further in other professional applications.

Business benefit

The roots of Mindgrasp AI came from a coding competition where Thai had to come up with a potential business idea that could be programmed into a usable tool. Once the idea came to mind in light of the inefficiencies of many education systems at the university-level with tedious tasks that don’t contribute to an overall understanding as efficiently as they should, he saw the potential for a business that would be at the cutting edge of the technological push towards implementing AI into our learning environment. This initial seed rooted in problems Thai saw through his personal experience of attending a university naturally provided him with the passion to learn everything he could to build it out from his end, along with bring together a powerful, but tight-knit team in the process of doing so.

As the platform is now functional and marketable to investors, Thai has relentlessly spent time networking and advertising the product along with his team of original founders. They have been able to see a huge growth in users over the last couple of months as they’ve brought more focus towards marketing through commonly used platforms such as Tik Tok and Instagram. These markets are heavily targeted towards the same group of people that Mindgrasp AI was designed for which has placed them into an exciting position as they continue to develop their product and reach out to investors.

Mindgrasp.ai is an extremely versatile platform and this is evident as it has spread globally to areas where people do not even speak English, which was initially not part of the scope. This means that Mindgrasp.ai has broken barriers of language and culture to bring its benefits to people worldwide.
