Solar Energy Solutions for Colombia

Inspiration

“Suncolombia is an idea that was born 6 years ago from my relationship with renewable energies, with an objective that says in its slogan the sun goes out for all. It is an idea that seemed viable to realize a solar energy project in the country, for the rural areas.” Juan Jose Gomez – General Management.

Overall impact

"It benefits by generating a business model that provides a solution based on renewable and clean energy to areas and communities that do not have any type of electric power service.

It offers opportunities to remote communities to have access to energy creating an impact on the quality of life and the way in which they develop their activities. In this way their productivity is increased at work, academic levels are increased in the case of children, and even security is increased. Another benefit is bringing employment to these areas since much of the labor that is hired is from the same communities that are receiving solar energy, so not only are these communities gaining access to energy, they are also receiving a source of income. In the long term, the implementations in the communities allows them to develop economic and dynamic models in the communities to improve their living conditions.

Suncolombia being an idea of entrepreneurship is a generator of employment and innovation is part of their corporate values, promoting the creation of new technologies and the implementation of energy solutions for the benefit of communities." Juan Jose Gomez – General Management.

Business benefit

Suncolombia generates a business model that provides a solution based on renewable and clean energy to areas and communities that don't have any type of electric power service. Suncolombia offers remote communities an opportunity to have access to energy, creating an impact on the quality of life and the way in which they develop their activities, in order to contribute to these communities to increase their productivity at work, the academic level (for that matter of the students who wish to continue their studies not only from the school), and generates great impact in the development of the security of these communities. Another benefit is to generate employment in the areas where the idea is implemented since most of workforce is people from the communities, in this way the communities are provided with a tool that provides them with energy, but at the same time it is a source of income. In the long term, the implementation of this business idea allows communities to develop economic and dynamic models to improve their living conditions.

"Suncolombia being an idea of entrepreneurship is a generator of employment and innovation is part of their corporate values, promoting the creation of new technologies and the implementation of energy solutions for the benefit of communities." Juan Jose Gomez – General Management.
