Plantable paper is a biodegradable eco-paper made with eco-friendly recycled paper (no trees harmed for this paper) and embedded with seeds. When the paper is planted in a pot of soil, the seeds grow, and the paper composts away. All that is left behind are flowers, herbs or vegetables, and no waste.

"We soak the paper in shallow water and then fill the top with good fertile soil, letting it germinate with climate conditions. We use different plants/flowers like Mari Gold, Basil, Wild Flower, Tomato, and Mix Vegetable Seed Paper. All these products reduce the waste generated from them especially plastic waste in society, which affects the life on land or water.
When asked about the most exciting part of his company, he said that " each product has a story to tell and celebrate a world without plastic. When each product is launched, it creates huge attention due to the uniqueness of the product as it is analogous to an actual living and breathing organism".
Bengaluru-based Roshan Ray got thinking “sustainable” when his handmade paper business got an order to print a large batch of wedding cards back in 2014. He realized wedding invites are something you throw away after the occasion. But what if it could be recycled? He created wedding cards with plant seeds embedded in them. The invitation could be planted, and plants would grow out of them! He soon hit upon the idea of embedding seeds in several other everyday products that otherwise easily wind up in the waste.
As of 2015, estimates yield that 6.3 billion tons of plastic have been generated on a global spectrum. What happens in terms of management of these disposed of wastes? It is shocking to learn that only 9% of it gets recycled, 12% is incinerated, and the remaining 79% is left to rot in open spaces or landfills.
This is where Seed Paper India steps in and responds to the existing problem by offering creative and sustainable solutions that involve the community at every level.
By creating Seed Pens for the masses, whose body is made of 100% recycled cardboard paper, they have eliminated the use of single-use Ball pens. Only the refill is plastic; other than that, the seed pen is made of 100% recycled paper.
By creating Seed Paper Flags, they have virtually started a new movement by eliminating plastic flags used in political and social get-togethers during republic and independence day.
By pioneering the making of seed Ganesha, they have started a green revolution by making Ganesha out of clay and embedding them with seeds so that our rivers and lakes don't get polluted by using the traditional POP material.
By 2050, the trends in waste production are forecasted to double, the natural environment will be burdened with 12 billion tons of plastic. So, let's not wait for then.

Seed paper India believes that even if anyone is 1% concerned about the reversal of environmental damage, it is enough to spark a cycle of change. And this fervent vision is quickly gaining ground through the power of partnerships.
Seed Paper India has collaborated with top Indian and International brands by customizing products according to their tastes and requirements. They had the opportunity to craft seeded cards for the New York Fashion week distributed to all the celebrities at the event.
They have undertaken orders from brands like Infosys, Hilton Hotels, Tata housing, Omniactive, and Make My Trip, among many others.
Over 5000 handmade plantable books and pencils were provided to Swiggy that would sprout into bright flowers. Hoegaarden placed orders for hexagonal coasters while Café Coffee Day had seed cards on their racks.
Society faces problems related to air quality and global warming. The reason behind this is the afforestation of trees to increase the land for construction and other purposes, which ultimately affect our climate.
