The founders of Stattus4 always wanted to have a business as entrepreneurs that: “as the business gets more successful (in terms of growth and profitability) the more benefits society and the environment will also receive”, as described by the CEO Marilia Lara Marcondes Machado de Oliveira.
The dream started to become reality in 2015 when the founders of Stattus4 worked on the development of an electronic geophone at the previous company they worked for. During the test period, the founders of Stattus4 identified that the work of listening to the electronic geophone was really hard, in the context of a street in Brazil: People talking, loud noise from cars and buses, dogs barking, etc.
Having some knowledge about artificial intelligence they developed a way to use technology to review the sounds collected by the electronic geophone, analyze that, and provide a diagnosis, isolating the other sounds and human error. With that idea they started to research hydraulic issues in Brazil and realized that it was a huge problem, generating large social impact.
Today Stattus4 is a result of this dream, experience and research. A technology startup engaged in building smart cities and sustainability, collecting and understanding natural resource data and making it available to more people.
Stattus4 provides two main solutions:
The first solution, 4Fluid is the flagship system of Stattus4, and has been built based on a unique digital solution and also a unique hardware, both developed by Stattus4. The hardware is adaptable for different types of hydrometers that can help utilization in cities with different pipe systems.

Today, for every 6 Brazilians, at least 1 doesn't have access to potable water. On average, Brazil wastes 38% of water in the distribution process. If they can save 20% of the lost volume it would be able to supply all 35 million Brazilians who do not have access to drinking water.
Investments in loss management in the sanitation area are essential to improve people's quality of life and ensure that everyone has access to the basic and most important natural resource for life: water.
Water distributors, using the technology, achieve a significant reduction in water loss (by leakage or fraud) and such resources are reallocated to provide water/sewage for the population.
In addition to that, the reduction of water losses impacts the consumption of the available water of the natural springs.
The main customer for Stattus4 in Brazil is the government, as the companies in charge of water and gas distribution are, in most cases, public companies.
Just in 2020, Stattus4 collected data from more than 400,000 different places, which helped to identify 2,660 leaks. The estimation of total water loss could serve about 300,000 people per day.
Stattus4 is also committed to other social causes, for example, in 2020 they donated material to a social project that enabled the production of 30.000 face shields to help hospitals with safe equipment against COVID-19.
