The company's core values; respect for the humans and the environment is maintained through the standard work of daily management, systematic maintenance, having everything in order but also working against continuous improvements of the employer as an individual, better tools of measurements and understanding, cost efficiency and finally customer satisfaction.

Overall impact

Proton Group consciously works with a strategic approach to the workplace environment throughout the concern. During the years Proton has purchased different industry-companies in different business-areas in order to merge this with Proton Group. This is seen as a business advantage for Proton because it about minimizes the vulnerability to for recession but as well as an incitement for the employees to stay in the organization and possibly change business area if they like. This also works as a security for the employees, that if one business area is affected by recession or something else caused by the surrounding society, the other business areas of Proton Group are able to economically support the employees and also offer other jobs.

Most of Proton Group´s work consists of high-intensity labor which can be taxing on the employee. To combat this Proton always strive towards innovative working methods and automating the work processes in the industries. To exemplify automation is something that at the moment are evolving in Proton engineering, where machinery is used to help decrease the workload on the employees. This is something that permeates throughout Proton Group, to decrease the workload the employees.

They have several benefits of consciously working with sustainability. To exemplify this Proton thinks that: "to build a strong employer brand you have to take the environmental issues into consideration and in everything, you do in your everyday business work." Environmental thinking is a widely thought of in a positive manner in Sweden. Therefore it becomes a vital part of the perception of a workplace and is something potential employees will take into consideration when searching for jobs. They also explained that "It can also help existing employees feel a sense of pride of working in a company that acknowledges its environmental effects. That is also one of the reasons for the company's core values; respect for the humans and the environment. This is maintained through the standard work of daily management, systematic maintenance, having everything in order but also working against continuous improvements of the employer as an individual, better tools of measurements and understanding, cost efficiency and finally customer satisfaction".

Social and environmental benefit

Proton Group works very actively with sustainable development through measure their businesses work in different sustainable parameters. This is an initiative from the board for the entire company and the board takes it as their responsibility to measure different processes in the company. This goes in line with the group's cause to benefit humans and environment. To exemplify this work they always measure environmental effect before doing any kind of investments. One way to measure this is by observing how much waste is produced in relation to their purchase volume. These numbers are later evaluated and followed up by investigating ways to decrease their waste per purchase volume. Regarding the work with metal details and likewise they try to reuse scraps of metal and other debris and recreate it to other details in order to further decrease their waste. In regards to the lighting business, they always try to take back the products from their customers after they are consumed. Example of these products can be batteries and overall electrical products.

Proton also values their contributions to their nearby society. This is accomplished by visit schools, work fairs and engaging in local sports teams and other youth activity. This is also made in order to enhance their employer brand but also support the local community and its different activities and also create long-lasting relationships with different actors.
