Fruver waste collection: in 2018, 576,476 kg of waste were collected, leaving 432 tons of CO2 in the atmosphere, equivalent to not using 714 m3 of landfill.
Solid Waste (Recycled Plastic): From 2009 to 2018, 2,747 tons of recycled plastic were collected, leaving 6,883,982 tons of CO2 in the atmosphere, equivalent to the use of 6,868 m3 of landfill.
Solid Waste (Recycled Cardboard): From 2009 to 2018, 47,527 tons of recycled cardboard were collected and 71,290 tons of CO2 were not emitted into the atmosphere, which is equivalent to stopping the felling of 807,959 trees.
Used cooking oil: In 2018, 44,027 kg of used cooking oil was disposed of and used, thus avoiding the emission of 1027 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere and the contamination of 47,855,430 liters of water, equivalent to 19 Olympic swimming pools.
Photovoltaic solar panels: It is a clean, silent, and safe source of energy. It is renewable, its resources are inexhaustible and non-polluting, it prevents global warming and reduces the use of fossil fuels, and contributes to sustainable development.
In 2018, 1,077 MWh of electrical energy were generated at its points of sale, thus avoiding the emission of 500 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, equivalent to the energy required for the basic consumption of 19,937 social housing units.
Eco-computing: It is a collective system of selective collection and environmental management of computer and peripheral waste.
The waste they receive is Monitors and CPUs, Mice and keyboards, Laptops and tablets, USB and hard drives, printers and scanners, Computer and peripheral waste, and finally external DVD and CD drives.
From 2016 to 2018, 97,396 kg of waste electrical and electronic equipment were collected and therefore 146 tons of CO2 were not emitted into the atmosphere.
Lumina: Applies to tubular type burned fluorescent bulbs, compact fluorescent, and street lighting.
From 2015 to 2018, 11,533 kg of lights were properly disposed of and 16,244 tons of CO2 were not emitted into the atmosphere, thus avoiding the contamination of 336,393 m3 of water, equivalent to 132 Olympic swimming pools.
Ruedaverde: Collective system of selective collection and environmental management of tire waste.
From 2012 to 2017, 903,332 kg of tires were properly disposed of and 1,979 tons of CO2 equivalent to 15,079 m3 of asphalt mix were left in the atmosphere, which would be enough to asphalt 18.3 km of roads.
Batteries for the Environment: Management for the collection of AA, AAA, 6, 9, and 12-volt batteries, cellular and portable, by means of containers.
From 2018 to 2019, 177.9 kg of alkaline batteries were properly disposed of and 0.41 tons of CO2 were not emitted into the atmosphere, preventing the contamination of 1,297,188 m3 of water, equivalent to 519 Olympic swimming pools.
Since 2009 Olímpica recovers recycled material generated in the points of sale nationwide. With the recycling program, the company has stopped emitting 6,955,272 tons of CO2 to the planet. On July 22, 2019, in Barranquilla, Olímpica reaffirms its commitment to environmental conservation with a robust solid waste management plan that seeks to give a second chance to material suitable for recycling, generated in more than 378 points of sale nationwide.

4. Formulate plans, programs, and projects that lead the company towards sustainable environmental management.
5. Prevent and control pollution through efficient processes and practices of environmental care that generate economic value for the company, reducing costs associated with the final disposal of waste and energy consumption.
6. Communicate and educate its employees about the commitments of this policy, since they are the ones who contribute significantly to the fulfillment of it.
The products that can be used within the recycling program are cardboard, plastic, folding cartons, fruit boxes, apple boxes, egg trays, apple trays, PET, file paper, newsprint, Kraft bags, glass, scrap metal, polystyrene, tarps, and plastic hooks.
This recycling program helps the company succeed and be part of those companies that are environmentally responsible.
