Compozist produces decorative items, packaging solutions and heat isolation made from a high-performance biomaterial which consists of mushroom mycelium and agricultural waste. This makes Compozist's sound and heat isolation systems compostable, biodegradable and naturally sustainable. In addition, manufacturing these materials requires less energy in comparison with plastic and plastic foam.
Compozist's product is a remarkable innovation in the field of material science. " We bring the nature to your home. A non-plastic vase, non-plastic candlestick, non-glass light frame." "We don't produce vases, vases are grown for flowers." The idea is to try to replace unsustainable and toxic materials with a biodegradable and eco-friendly alternatives made from mushrooms and agricultural waste such as corn stalks and husks.
Masoud used to work for an eatable mushroom company as a production manager. One day, he unexpectedly met one of his old classmates, Mojtaba, in a book fair and soon they began working together on the new product. They were hugely inspired by a TED Talk show in which a speaker claimed that it would be possible to produce some materials from mushrooms and use these materials instead of plastics. Soon Mojtaba and Masoud started their own business co-founding COMPOZIST in 2017.
"Compozist is the beginning of the end of the era of plastics"
Compozist was established to substitute plastic for mushroom materials in decorative industry, packaging, and isolation. This sustainable immensely contributes to reduction in energy consumption and pollution in the environment.
