KNP Arises is a ground-breaking company that is working to make the world a greener place. This company, founded by three like-minded individuals, has seen the evolution of environmentally friendly gasoline.
The company has innovated the way used oil is treated in India and as a result is working not only towards better public health but also towards the production of biodiesel which is a better alternative as compared to the traditional energy sources.
The company's business plan revolves around "Key to Nature Protection." The team is working to develop waste-to-energy business models that are both sustainable and scalable.
KNP Arises gathers and pays the best price for discarded cooking oils and fats from restaurants. The oils are then converted into bio-diesel. The company offers a variety of services to assist manufacturers in managing waste oils and fats. KNP Arises attempts to reduce any potential waste issues by offering tailor-made packages to Supermarkets and Fast Food Outlets.
The process at KNP is simplified and conducive for everyone to understand and function.
The prospective vendors contact KNP using their mobile application or a toll free number. The KNP team on receiving the request, looks for the logistical availability and arranges pick up for the same. The customer gets paid for providing used oil commensurate to the quantity and quality. The oil undergoes various quality checks, before it is sent to the plant for conversion to biodiesel.
Sushil Vaishnav, the founder of KNP Arises, was born and bought up in India. After graduating, he worked for some time in Dubai and started a startup that revolved around automation of data entry to start something he could call his own. During his time in Dubai, he realized that he couldn't sustain his business along with his job and moved back to India.
Upon returning to India he encountered problem-related to food safety when he realized that the oil used for frying was being reused multiple times. Having worked in the food space he knew he had to do something about it. This gave birth to KNP Arises.
The KNP team started collecting information from multiple food vendors and restaurants, to understand the magnitude of work it had to do. They faced multiple issues related to awareness and reluctance from vendors to change the way they operated. The company since then has been collecting used oil from multiple vendors in many cities and converting it into reusable biodiesel. The organization has also been working with multiple state governments, and helping them develop sustainable smart cities.
Not only does the company impact the wellbeing of human population and environment, but it also helps in production of bio diesel which is a much sustainable and cheaper fuel as compared to regularly used sources of energy.
KNP Arises has agreed to offer transparent evidence of its commitment to environmental sustainability and protection for future generations.
By informing the public about the dangers of reusing oil, such as food poisoning, which affects millions of people every year, as well as the advantages of living a zero-waste lifestyle. As a result, the focus is on developing a smart city.
KNP Arises contributes to the government's goal of reducing carbon emissions.
KNP Arises has had a significant influence on the environment by saving roughly 2-3 million tons of CO2 by converting wasted oil to biodiesel, which does not produce sulphur and thus reduces the amount of CO2 released, making it green energy. It considers water and soil pollution when converting, and does not throw spent oil into them.
KNP's anaerobic digestion facility has the capacity for processing up to 60,000 tonnes of liquid food waste per year.
Started with a philanthropic purpose by an individual has turned into a budding business with each year new profit prospects , new growth, and an amplified impact which gradually is compounding to a bigger positive in the realm of climate space. Identifying the cascading destruction of fossil fuel and plummeting levels of living conditions, the organization is setting standards in delineating carbon levels and promoting the goodness of health holistically.

"Consumption of used cooking oil (UCO) has negative health consequences. Several properties of the oil are altered during frying and repeated frying results in the formation of Total Polar Compounds (TPC). Hypertension, atherosclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, liver illnesses, and other ailments may be caused by these chemicals' toxicity. As a result, it's critical to keep an eye on the quality of vegetable oils when they're being fried", shared Mr. Vaishnav.
To protect consumer health, the FSSAI has set a limit of 25% for Total Polar Compounds, above which the vegetable oil cannot be utilized. All Food Business Operators (FBOs) are expected to monitor the quality of oil during frying beginning July 1, 2018, to comply with the requirements.
One of the key aspects of their working philosophy is to empathize with the various business owners and give them an accurate and easier solution to manage the discarded cooking oils.
Certificates are provided to these restaurants and hotels, that they can showcase as a symbol of high-quality assurance.
Not only various food chains, but the team also take initiatives to educate various housing societies to educate people about waste management.
The target market here is the Indian Bio-Diesel Industry. There is currently a great demand for biodiesel in the country. One of the foremost factors in increasing the demand is its cheap price. But unfortunately not only in India but across the entire globe, there is a huge supply gap.
Talking about India, the government of India has various commitments on international platforms and forums to reduce the country’s carbon footprint.
Not only the government, but various big MNCs are targeting to become carbon net-zero to play their part in saving the climate. But the biggest obstacle that they are facing is the availability of raw materials to produce this green energy.
Being a solution provider in this regard, KNP has become one of the industry favorites. To date, the team has saved around 3.2 million tons of Carbon Dioxide by converting discarded cooking oil to biodiesel.

Key to Nature Protection Arises is a ground-breaking company that is working to make the world a greener place. It is a brainchild of Mr. Sunil Vaishnav wherein the idea was conceived out of one singular need identified i.e. a quite evident problem that still remains to be oblivious to many - proper discarding of the used cooking oil and its replacement with a better source. It collects and converts leftover cooking oils and fats from restaurants into bio-diesel.
