Insurance Company with a Conscience

Inspiration

Stefan Ericson is the CEO of Dina Försäkringar Skaraborg-Nerike. Ericson did not have any previous experience in the insurance business before entering the industry as a CEO at Dina Försäkringar. He previously worked as a journalist for 23 years, and was a member of the Board of Directors at Dina Försäkringar Skaraborg-Nerike before getting the request of being the CEO. The CEO told us: "I have always been inspired by equality and environmental goals, and I remain positive we can do more every day, even though we are a small company".

Overall impact

Dina Försäkringar AB provides 10 mentorship programs for the staff that seeks improvement in everyday work. Staff will be fairly treated.

Stefan mentions that at Dina Försäkringar they constantly work for a more equality based work environment with a non tolerance for discrimination of any kind. They are currently 28 employees at Dina Försäkringar Skaraborg-Nerike and the gender ratio is at 50/50, with 14 females and 14 males. Their board consist of 6 people where 4 of them are female and 2 of them are males. Taken from their equality goals, “The company does not accept that any of the employees are exposed to any kind of discrimination, harassment or any form of offensive treatment”. The company is actively working in prevention of discrimination and promote equal rights and possibilities regardless of gender, gender identity or sexual expressions, ethnicity, religion or other beliefs.

When we asked Stefan Ericson about his take on how he pushes himself and his staff to taking more eco-friendly choices in everyday life he said this:
“I am so impressed of how good we are, as a small company, always striving to be better. Of course we could be better, but we have come a long way and I am proud of my work here during all of my years in this company.” One can hope that the board will receive financial aid and guidance from Dina Försäkringar AB, so that Dina Försäkringar Skaraborg-Nerike can improve their sustainability even more.

Business benefit

Because Dina Försäkringar has a equal treatment plan and actively follows it, and while collaborating with Mitt Liv this is what they accomplish: The employees will be fairly treated, their tasks will be challenging without draining them and people will sense that management sees them, that they have a purpose and that their qualities matter.
