PROTRASH is a social enterprise, dedicated to optimizing the recycling industry in Mexico, and at the same time helping people in low-income communities acquire a monetary value for their recyclable waste.
One of their main objectives is to increase the percentage of processed trash in the recycling industry in Mexico, due to less than 15% of the country's trash is recycled and is not in a formal way.
PROTRASH is an alternative for “trash catchers workers” to create more disposable income through recyclable waste for families living in slums in Mexico while contributing to a clean environment and shortening the recyclable process with a breakthrough technology.
PROTRASH invites families to collect and recycle their trash, take it to the closest PROTRASH center in their community, and in exchange they receive an expense card. This card can be used in different stores to obtain food, clothes, school items and more.
PROTRASH is the only Mexican company that pays for recyclable waste in low-income communities, to help them have a better quality of life.
Protrash is a group of Mexican social entrepreneurs that want to change the reality of millions of people suffering poverty around the world. Their main goal is to have as many centers as possible in order to reach more people to improve the quality of life, and have a control system to track their social impact.
Aim to be the leading social enterprise in Mexico that improves the quality of life of 110,000 people, helping reduce the carbon footprint by 2019, improving the quality of life of people by generating new income and contributing to the environment.
