Summary

"Taking care of its own employee is a serious responsibility that every CEO should endorse proudly" Dorf industry has always considered poverty and unemployment a major crisis that needed to be solved as soon as possible. The CEO of the company, Hassan Elaorf has always considered that only employing people is not a durable solution and that a company can help the environment by also helping the low-class population so that's why he thought of two major innovations: The first one was that Dorf company will financially help any employee that does not have any suitable home for him or their family and will provide free housing for those that are living far-away from their family. The second one which is related to both the environment and the locals were that any waste like meat or mortadella that could not be sold will be giving freely to the locals, the other non-organic waste will be immediately transported to another company that has a partnership as to recycle and re-use it.

Innovation

Unfortunately, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, many people have lost their homes and employment so as to provide a suitable solution to this crisis, Dorf company has taken charge of gifting more than 30% of the price of any house for any of its employees that have been negatively affected by the pandemic and made a promise to not fire any of its employees during those hard times despite not doing financially well due to the pandemic.

As for the environment, Dorf Industry has made a partnership with another company to recycle its waste and turn it into raw materials that can be used for production. Dorf Industry has also provided many of the locals free mortadella and meat that could not be sold to help them survive this terrific pandemic.

"It is in those situations where people should forget about only their benefits and help those that are in need," said Mister Hassan Elaorf, a former immigrant in The United States of America. He knows more than anyone the hardships coming from being a poor employee in a company and had always admired those that actually made efforts to change their life. He considers all its company as a second family, " I only see my wife and children 3 hours a day and meet my employees more than 12 hours a day" said Mister Hassan Elaorf. As for the environment and poverty, the CEO thinks that to find a suitable and durable solution for those crises one must find a solution that links the two problems.

Overall impact

All of the employees in the Dorf Industry have a home on their own, while most of them are not even literate. As for the environment, the CEO considers that the overall impact made by the organization is relatively small because of its limited location and capital, but will make sure that the company which is already 24 years old, will keep it that way and improve it. Most of the locals have managed to survive thanks to the charity help made by Dorf Industry toward them and have even made new employment thanks to its new policy of recycling.

Business benefit

Thanks to the fervent loyalty of both the employees and the locals, Dorf Industry has actually managed to survive through this pandemic and even increase its sales and daily production which means that the Dorf Industry had made more profits this last 5 months compared to the start of the pandemic. The raw materials were especially cheap thanks to the new policy of recycling, and the employees had an increase in morale which boosted the daily production in the company due to them having a fervent loyalty toward the company thanks to all the financial help Dorf has provided for them.

Social and environmental benefit

Dorf industry has managed to be partially self-sufficient which limited its wastes. Also, thanks to the new financial help provided by the company and its new policy of not firing anyone under any circumstance, the company made a small impact on reducing poverty and unemployment in society.
