GAM Information Systems' innovation is their constantly-updated education of their employees so that they can better inform and educate their customers. This practice began in the 1990's with the now CEO Greg Metzger. Greg Metzger and Paul Tornatore Sr. work very closely together and put a point of emphasis on continuously having employees certified and authorized every year so that they can better educate themselves and the people they work with on a daily basis. This began in the Colts Neck, New Jersey office where Paul Tornatore and Greg Metzger work. The emphasis on education is something that other businesses have practiced and many businesses can learn from. Education for all is something that is seriously considered by many businesses today, especially those that deal with customers on a daily basis. Customers expect their dealings to go smoothly and that the provider be well informed and educated in their field. By having employees continuously going through education and learning courses, your business is set up for success.

Inspiration

The biggest inspiration for this innovation were the many examples of companies who do not invest in their employees. We see large companies outsourcing because they do not care about the treatment of their workers, they are solely interested in profit. On a small scale, we see individuals unhappy with their work environment for one reason or another and the company ignores the issue, which makes the person hate their job and not work to their potential.

GAM did not want either of these to be the case. The company values its employees and its work. The founders of GAM wanted to build something that would do more than just generate profit; they wanted to build a company that would benefit every party involved.

The overall impact of this innovation is to better the company's employees while also providing the absolute best for their customers. By having their employees constantly learning new things from different technology providers and courses, GAM makes the most of what they have and to stay a competitor in this industry. The impact of their education is also shown through innovation and sales, with the improvement and emphasis on employee education they are able to show their customers that they will always be there for them.
