Mr. Praful, the founder, reflected on his initial motivation during the interview: “Because the city where I live in Ahmedabad, there is a lot of garbage there. And the most waste there is of fabric. The polyester fabric.” Witnessing the overwhelming textile waste in his community motivated him to explore sustainable alternatives, particularly as he observed the detrimental impact of fast fashion.


The COVID-19 pandemic provided him with the opportunity to reimagine his business. With time to reflect and research, he drew inspiration from global trends in sustainability. “So, during COVID, we saw that there are so many problems. And at that time, time was also free. So, we thought, what can we do new in this? I was looking at 2-3 European companies. I saw 2-3 Australian companies. And then I thought, why don’t we do this in India?” This realization, coupled with his vision for reducing waste, marked the beginning of J-Craft Eco’s journey toward sustainable textile manufacturing.


His determination to address the environmental toll of fast fashion led to a clear goal: “Our goal and aim is the same. That we will reduce fast fashion as much as we can. I am not saying that we will finish it completely. But when we have 10-15,000 companies, then 30-40% will be reduced.” These statements highlight how Mr. Praful’s innovation is not only inspired by his surroundings but also driven by a broader commitment to global sustainability.
