Summary

This is a restaurant business. They provide all the foods from vegetables to protein on their own.

Innovation

The owner was a very successful business woman. She used to move in the art industry especially in the advertisement. She has a production house which produced many TV advertisement for large corporation through out Indonesia.

One day, she learned about Hydroponic. She started to apply it on her home at Cibubur. After a while, she found out that some of her passion is in the agricultural sector especially in the Hydroponic business. Not only she starts developing her skills, but also she starts teaching hydroponic throughout Indonesia. She even starts her own seminar to introduce hydroponic to the community.

Meanwhile, she also open up her own chicken farm at Muntilan, Central Java, Indonesia. She starts it from a very small scale. She learns to do chicken farm also from the community. She knew that sustaining at least her own needs will be a big benefit for her.

After a while, she has a sustained chicken farm and hydroponic business, she opened the restaurant called Joglo Ndeso. The employees came from the community, including for her chicken farm, and hydroponic farm.

Nowaday, she becomes a very successful farmer, and restaurateur.

From Hydroponic to The Society

Inspiration

1. She is helping the community by giving job opportunities.

2. She is successfull in producing vegetables and protein in a very effective and efficient ways

3. Her employees are free to become her reseller and she will let them take all of the profit from their sales

4. Advertise only on social media. Most guest are coming because of the "Word of Mouth" from their friends and families.

Overall impact

She spreads the idea of hydroponic. Many people are looking on how to start their own hydroponic garden. At least for their home consumption, hydroponic is the easiest way to go. They do not need the large plantation and do not need the long period of time to harvest.

Also, the community is able to get more income by becoming her reseller. Selling chicken, eggs, vegetables to the city. They learn on how to deal a business and start from a small scale.

Business benefit

This is a very unique business model. Only few or even hard to find restaurants that are able to fulfill their needs of supplies from their own resources.

Social and environmental benefit

Joglo Ndeso has given so much benefits to the society and environment.

For society, Joglo Ndeso has been successfully increase the economic opportunity of the surrounding community by giving them the job opportunity and a good education on starting their own farm and garden.

For the environment, Joglo Ndeso has been producing their own supply in a very effective and efficient way. Having their own farm and garden is giving them the opportunity to keep the environment clean, without exploiting the soil.
