Rob Burke is the owner and operator of Wayne Auto Spa, an environmentally conscious car wash and repair company. What started out as just a local business today is a unique example of a car wash that promotes sustainability and supports the community. Some of Burke's customers volunteer their time in the organic garden he created to benefit a local family shelter. Wayne Auto Spa has 58 solar panels and a wind turbine that provide clean, renewable electricity. It burns its own waste oil to create heat, which it uses throughout the facility. It uses biodegradable soap.

It treats its waste water with an advanced filtration system to remove impurities before it goes to the municipal water treatment facility, thus saving the city money.

Wayne Auto Spa teamed up with Eva's Village to build a greenhouse on its property. It donates the food it produces to a local food pantry and to Hope Residence, a shelter for mothers and children. It also raises chickens and the money collected from selling the eggs goes to local shelters and food pantries. These aspects of the business relate to the sustainable cities and communities goal as well as to the responsible consumption and production goal.

It is notable that Burke had to push for eight years to finally get permission to build his windmill. He continues to search for ways to become more sustainable.
