Summary

''Şeften Ye'' gives a solution to zero hunger and partnership for the goals. The application brings together homemakers, hotels, and restaurants with consumers. Hotels and restaurants can share their food with less money. Also, applications positively impact homemakers; they aim for a low-profit margin policy for them.

Innovation

Our application is not just a new product, it's a unique system that bridges the gap between homemakers and customers, revolutionizing the way homemade meals are shared and enjoyed.

The name of our application is "Şeften Ye." the housewife uploads the meals they can cook to the system; they open a shop there and share these meals with the users. Users order the meals they request from the homemakers.

Thanks to this application, homemakers will earn income by serving their customers the food they cook at home without wasting it. At this point, the limited sharing of home-cooked meals is one of the most significant factors preventing waste. In Turkey, 93 kilograms of food are wasted per person per year. If we start this in Turkey and spread it to the world, we can be one of the third in a great movement began in the world.

Inspiration

Alperen is one of the co-founders. One day, he went to his cousin's house, exhausted. He also lived far away from his family. He didn't like cooking either. He said, "I wish I could have a home-cooked meal from your neighbour." Alperen thought about this project that day. ''What can we do? What path can we follow?'' saying.

He said, ''In fact, many successful companies we observe today have expanded their initiatives, which they initially started to make their own lives easier, and have become leading names in the world.'' Technology also welcomes us with solutions to make human life more manageable and improve quality.

To summarise, this journey started with the founder's desire to have dinner with his cousin. It turned into a start-up. When we look at it today, it has lived up to the "butterfly effect" as a project that provides employment to housewives throughout Turkey and prevents redundancy.

Overall impact

To begin with, in this project, homemakers gained employment. It brought a new breath to the market, and with it, users saved time.

The project's progress took a significant leap forward when we established a fruitful collaboration with the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Their support and involvement have been instrumental in our journey.

If they did not have a shop within the application, the application could not develop and attract users. These are the steps they have taken so far. First, the team was established. Then, the project work started. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality was contacted. From here, their goal is to spread throughout Türkiye.

They want to start pilot applications in provinces such as Istanbul and Ankara. If successful, they aim to expand throughout Türkiye. Then, they aim to implement the project abroad in pilot regions in countries with such demand.

Business benefit

The team started with Alper, the principal founder, and his cousin. Alper's software knowledge was initially sufficient for the demo site. Then they realised they needed to grow the team and hired. Necati, who was among us during the interview, joined the team as an SEO expert and ensured that the application was ranked at the top of Google. Afterwards, our software developer friend joined us to meet our back-end needs.

Marketing was a pivotal area for us. We understood that no matter how exceptional our product was, effective marketing was essential. Recognizing the significance of collaboration with experts in this field, we made strategic decisions. This approach not only enhanced our product's visibility but also instilled confidence in our potential investors and stakeholders.

Their marketing specialist contacted Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and enabled them to implement the project together. In light of all this, the project was implemented. He said, ''We have become a money-making enterprise with many shops.''

Social and environmental benefit

They created employment by combining the demand from the market with homemakers. With this employment, the market's needs were met, and homemakers created a source of income for themselves. In addition, we have taken a big step against waste, as homemakers can also sell their food at home.

One of the pioneers of this waste is Izmir province. It is a severe source of waste, especially in the summer hotels and restaurants. They aim to prevent this waste by including them in the project in the coming years.
