Wikasatrian is a training center owned by PT Wijaya Karya Tbk. and used to become a center for leadership training based on Indonesian local wisdom. Aside from being used for PT Wijaya Karya Tbk's Leadership Training Center, Wikasatrian is currently also used by many local companies including State-Owned Enterprises as a crater for prospective corporate leaders. In its journey, Wikasatrian moved further by facilitating Affordable and Clean Energy SDGs (7), Decent work and Economic Growth (8), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (9), Life on Land (15), and Partnerships to achieve the Goal (17) in the learning process on Wikasatrian. The five SDGs will be a series of learning processes carried out on Wikasatrian.
The learning process on Wikasatrian is a special motivation for trainees to continue to learn and innovate so that for the same module, for example a module on decision making strategies, it will never be exactly the same as the previous module with the same name. This makes the learning process on Wikasatrian produce participants with abilities that are increasing from time to time. In accordance with the principles of Aim2Flourish, learning processes that grow organically will have a significant impact on the learning process. Every trainee on Wikasatrian is expected not only to receive formal material about leadership but also to absorb and take inspiration from the great heritage of the archipelago which is full of advice on cultural wisdom in a mosaic of harmony with the surrounding environment.
Wikasatrian is expected to provide refinement to open the boundaries of character and heart in an effort to get closer to the natural horizon. Through this understanding, it is hoped that a solid foundation of true enlightenment will be created that will become a guide to virtuous leadership.
The learning process in Wikasatrian prioritizes awareness of things rather than just knowing and then returning to old habits. In this case Wikasatrian hopes that the training participants can transform into individual learners who always want the best achievement in the work process so that a conclusion can be reached that leadership is the main element in realizing excellent performance and that is a balance between God, Humanity and Nature.
In navigating each pulse of entrepreneurship, knowledge is needed that is imaged by water which gives the benefit of the knowledge that flows to the surroundings. The image is an embodiment of the aspects of God, Humanity, and Nature which are packaged in the form of learning through the “Jenjang Ksatria” and “Kendi Kewiraan”. These two terms refer to the level of achievement and knowledge gained from the training process. The curriculum offered at Wikasatrian is based on local wisdom which is sought from local wisdom in various parts of Indonesia, mainly based on wayang stories which are easier to enter in the training level. It is hoped that with the local approach, the training participants can transform themselves into a leader based on the balance of Spirituality-Humanity-Nature and characterized by national wisdom.
The learning process managed by Wikasatrian has never been managed professionally in other companies in Indonesia on an ongoing basis. It is expected that the pattern applied by Wikasatrian will become a model for other training centers in Indonesia so that the SDGs target especially Partnership to achieve the Goal can be achieved.
The inspiration for developing Wikasatrian came from the former Human Capital Director at PT Wijaya Karya Tbk. namely Tony Warsono who has anxiety about the training process which often adopts references outside Indonesia, while references to local wisdom are very widely spread throughout Indonesia from Sumatra to Papua. Mr. Tony believes that local wisdom has a common thread with training theories that currently exist even it is more locally embedded to the context of Indonesia.
Mr. Tony and Wikasatrian officials designed a training curriculum based on local wisdom that was continuously developed to fit the context of the changes taking place in the business world and life itself.
From the training process at Wikasatrian it is expected that the training participants can proceed to become a global-minded person but still oriented to local wisdom. It is hoped that with this combination, the training participants can transform into individuals who have excellent performance by putting the wisdom of the archipelago as the foundation of the company's leadership with 3 main distinctive Indonesian foundations namely Spiritual, Humanity and Nature.
It is expected that from the training at Wikasatrian which will be followed by participants in stages, a leadership ability will be achieved which is characterized by several modules called “Kendi Keseimbangan” (Balance Jug) in terms of:
• Corporate governance skills
• Tactical leadership and skills
• Strategy for decision making
• Entrepreneurship
• Knowledge and engineering order
• Risk governance
The invasion of a large wave of globalization often removes the wisdom of local culture and fosters the seeds of cultural homogenisation of identity, where all are competing to become similar and congruent cultures.
In the midst of the more recent vortex of the century, it is not uncommon for compass, instant, and mental culture to cut down on the color of national identity. Indeed, Indonesia has a lot of potential for local wisdom that should be managed, developed and applied to further improve the quality of life of the community. In this case the training participants can implement and implement local wisdom so that a business benefit can be obtained for the company without sacrificing the community which is the core of a development or change.
In the transformation process, there is always a shift in old values that socially create changes in cultural pillars with a variety of diversity and depth. The impact of shifts and changes sometimes creates desintegration ripples as a result of collisions with new values that often lead to resistance.
For this reason, the founders at Wikasatrian sees the need for a transformation that involves personal flexibility in it, which can later be transmitted into a unified collective transformation, according to the proverb "manjing ajer ajer", that humans must be able to enter their hearts and unite with each other. From the results of the training it is expected that the emergence of leaders who are able to realize flexibility in interaction that can read each situation so that they are able to make the right decisions in guiding, serving, and protecting all stakeholders around them.
Wikasatrian also strives to gather and transform the local wisdom of the archipelago to face global challenges so that trainees and Indonesian people in general do not lose their identity as a civilized multicultural nation, through a new leadership model that serves and protects.
