"This story of my entrepreneurship journey began out of curiosity. I had always yearned to learn or try something new, and I found myself in the midst of a pandemic. In that situation, with not much to do, and the university being very quiet as I was just starting my first semester", Mariana said.
"I decided to embark on this journey to see what would happen, what I could do. I noticed that makeup pads were being sold, so I decided to try them out as my first project. It turned out to be quite easy and I enjoyed it immensely. The intention behind making them was to offer a more economical and eco-friendly option for makeup removal."
Makeup pads represent a more sustainable alternative, as they reduce the amount of waste we generate. With just two small pieces of trash a day, the difference is significant. This was the initial idea that propelled the owner forward, and everything she has learned and accomplished with her brand is largely thanks to the resources she found on YouTube and the tutorials available there.
"Currently, another person is helping us, but the story remains the same. It all began as a personal project, a way to express myself creatively. The idea of making makeup pads was just the beginning. I wanted to create things for myself instead of simply buying them, taking a more practical approach to fashion."
As the same time, all the materials used to manufacture each product is sustainable and environmentally friendly because many of the fabrics are reused from garments that have finished their use cycle. The paints used for the designs are non-polluting. The business also innovates in creating responsible consumption through social networks and the point of sale, giving information to each client about their different uses and processes.
"We also actively participate in bazaars and consumer centers that sell 100% Mexican products and that are committed to green fashion. By doing this type of activities we contribute to new ways of thinking and buying products, our workers enjoy healthy relationships within the company."
"The concept of making my own tote bag arose and became a personal mission, a way to align my passion for fashion with my desire to be more self-sufficient. As I delved deeper into the world of fashion, I discovered a love for sewing. I spent hours watching fashion shows, researching designers, and immersing myself in documentaries", the entrepreneur said.
"With all these influences swirling in my mind, I finally materialized my vision by creating my first tote bags. I shared them on my Instagram stories, and to my surprise, my friends started asking to buy them. And that's how my entrepreneurial journey began, born out of a passion for creativity, sustainability, and personal expression. From there, I had this approach that I wanted something social and ecological, and I had learned to sew, so it was like a super combo."
That's why, with the fashion theme, Mariana spent a lot of time seeing that fast fashion was not an option for her. She loves fashion, but she is also very concerned about the ecological and social impact it has. She doesn't want to contribute to pollution or people's exploitation.
Another aspect to highlight in how this venture emerged was Mariana's curiosity to learn how to use a machine that her grandfather gave her so she could stay busy during the pandemic. She knew how to take advantage of her creativity to develop high-cost beauty products.
"I knew I wanted to consume locally, I wanted to support brands that were more aware, but I was also aware of greenwashing, where some brands try to portray themselves as eco-friendly without really changing their practices. I didn't know what to do or where to buy, so I thought: why not create my own brand instead of searching for one that aligns with my values? From there, this whole project that I've told you about was born." -Mariana
The initial idea was to start with the tote bags, then the makeup pads, and then expand to other products. The idea is to grow, but essentially, the idea has always been the same: to offer products that are socially and environmentally responsible. The social aspect is also included, as the brand has an ecological and social focus, as both areas go hand in hand.
The business aims to generate a circular economy, which implies fair treatment of workers, equitable wages, and appropriate benefits. Although they are currently a microenterprise with only 2 or 3 people working, they strive for fair compensation. "However, our goal is to grow without losing this focus. Therefore, we are implementing measures such as the use of eco-friendly packaging, optimizing each process to reduce our environmental footprint, and carefully selecting suppliers. Given our size, some actions may be limited, but we are committed to gradual improvement. From the origin of materials to the delivery of the final product, we strive to minimize our impact, including recycling paper and optimizing fabric cutting to reduce waste". -Mariana
Additionally, the business aims to close the product lifecycle by offering options for responsible disposal once its utility has ended, thus promoting a circular economy.
The innovation is deeply connected to a sense of mission, purpose, and meaning to promote an economic, ecological, and social approach. The customization of tote bags and the creation of a complete customer experience not only add value to the product but also reinforce the brand's purpose. By highlighting the importance of sustainability and social responsibility, the business seeks to convey a clear message to consumers: each purchase contributes to a positive impact on the world. This comprehensive approach not only strengthens the brand's identity but also sets it apart in a saturated and competitive market.
On the other hand, the acceptance in the community has been very good, which is why they are working on the development of new products and the delivery points have been expanded to the entire republic through digital platforms, which increases sales. From this it has been possible to generate more resources and expand the client portfolio to reach more responsible and conscious consumers.

On the other hand, the impact on society is positive thanks to the acceptance that her friends gave her from the beginning. This helped the creation of conscious and active digital content to attract customers who will look for quality and at the same time opt for more sustainable fashions.
The manufacture of bags with reusable fabrics helps reduce the impact of garbage. In addition, each purchase is monitored so that customers can use the products after their life cycle. This type of practice generates social responsibility with people and an invaluable respect for a cleaner and safer environment.
