Wayang Golek performing art is already rare in the show business industry. It is a traditional art going into extinction. This has implications for the economy of the craftsmen. The challenge is how to improve the quality and production process so that the Wayang Golek as an art can improve the lives of artisans and the surrounding communities.

Innovation

  • Create various Puppet size and quality.
  • Create various puppet models and characters.
  • Create another form of art from wood.
  • Using internet marketing channel to sell the art product.
  • Service after sales.

Create Jobs and Preserve Culture

Inspiration

1. The level of sales of the artisans are very low because:
- The buyer is travelers passing by the street near their residence.
- Their store is not attractive and without ads.
- There is not quality control for their product.
- It's only one sale channel.

2. Low economic level.

The inspiration comes from the ideas to overcome the above conditions.

Overall impact

1. Improve the quality of product standards.
2. Increased sales lead to the increasing income of the artisans.
3. With the increasing production needs, then create new job opportunities for the local population.
4. Additional income for housewives around the location of craftsmen with doing simple job such as making clothes and accessories for the puppet.

Business benefit

1. With good product quality and internet marketing channels, sales increased mainly buyers from tourist areas such as Bali and from abroad such as America, Thailand, Jepang.

2. With new innovations, the new type of character is preferred by the customer, especially for the souvenirs of firms/companies.

Social and environmental benefit

1. Reduce poverty

2. Create Jobs

3. Preserving Culture
