Summary

Car Community started off as a simple car club that organizes car shows and meet ups, it gained significant traction on social media worldwide and began organizing larger and larger events. Eventually, Car Community became incorporated and started selling branded decals, clothing, and merchandise worldwide. Using attractive exotic cars to draw a following, Car Community organizes large charity events such as car cruises to benefit different types of charities such as Toys for Tots (Christmas toy drive), Run for the Blue (police support), and Feed the Homeless.

Innovation

Started in 2015, Car Community is a business that organizes car shows and car cruises. Originally formed by a group of exotic car owners who wanted an exclusive club that would attend events together, Car Community has morphed into a large group of members with a core purpose of bringing car enthusiasts together to enjoy their hobby. Car Community originally attended car shows as a small group, but once it established a social media following it began organizing large car shows amassing over 500 cars. It was thought that if Car Community has such a large worldwide following, why not monetize their influence and sell merchandise representing their brand. The most fulfilling part of this company is the charity events. A brand with such a large following both on social media and in New York itself had almost an obligation to organize events that benefit different types of charities. Now on an almost a weekly basis Car Community meets up with tons of followers and collects donations or donates its time to charities such as Feed the Homeless and Toys for Tots.

Inspiration

It it believed that if car enthusiasm, a generally popular avenue of enjoyment, can draw such a large following why not harness that power and use it to give back to the community in more ways than one. Car shows and cruises are very popular and normally draw a large crowd whether it be walk-in attendees or enthusiasts driving their cars. Why not host events like these at locations where charity drives can be held while staying true to the core competencies of what car enthusiasts enjoy?

"We were spending weeknights and weekends meeting up, hanging out and talking about cars. We attended car shows together and thought why not organize our own car shows?" That's where it all began and we never imagined it would grow this large."

Overall impact

Car Community, since it's inception has had a healthy mixture of fun and enjoyment. One of its core values is giving back. Most members and core participants enjoy a fruitful and privileged life and the idea of mixing one of their favorite hobbies with giving back to the community is extremely enticing. The events that Car Community has hosted and continues to host have given back to multiple elements of the community. Run for the Blue is a car cruise supporting local police departments. It is generally believed that the sacrifice Police officers and their families endure for putting their lives on the line goes unrewarded and this event was organized to raise awareness as well as support for the local Patrolman's Benevolent Association. Toys for Tots is an event benefiting underprivileged children. Along with the Marine Corps, Car Community collects thousands and thousands of toys (enough to fill up multiple tractor trailers) before Christmas so that they can be gifted to local kids both in hospitals and part of underprivileged families.

"We have always been so thankful for being able to afford cars and luxuries like these and wanted to take organizing events to a whole new level by adding in a sense of giving back and giving enthusiasts an easy avenue to enjoy a car show but be able to donate in some capacity."

Using Snapchat, Car Community promotes its different types of merchandise as well as offers in-depth views of their events, giving the followers a firsthand look at what Car Community is all about.

Social and environmental benefit

Car Community brings people together. Whether it be the community and the Police force or whether it involves giving underprivileged children a enjoyable and interesting hobby to delve into. Automotive enthusiasm has always had a huge following. Car enthusiasm is fun, safe, and it is a lifelong hobby for many people to take up and enjoy for generations to come. These sort of organized events bring communities together and provide an interesting activity for families and friends of all ages.

"I've always been an advocate of giving young adults and even children a respectful and responsible activity to be brought up with."
