Elischer R.’s innovation focuses on creating clothes designed to last a lifetime, supported by a lifelong guarantee that allows customers to repair or exchange items for free, clearly aligning with SDG 12, Responsible Consumption and Production. This approach challenges fast fashion by prioritizing durability, quality, and responsible consumption. By placing sustainability at the heart of its business, Elischer R. proves that private companies can protect the planet while meeting customer needs. The brand’s transparency and commitment to care have built lasting trust and loyalty among consumers. Ultimately, this innovation shows that sustainable fashion can be both ethically driven and economically successful.
At the heart of Elischer R.’s work is the belief that “sustainability means creating clothes that last, both in quality and style.” This philosophy guides everything they do. They design clothing that customers can keep for years, pieces that age with you, not against you. Their lifelong guarantee is more than a service policy, it’s a promise that they’ll stand by every item they make. By repairing or exchanging worn pieces for free, they remind people that the most sustainable choice is often the simplest one: make what you love last.
Their focus on wellbeing starts with the materials themselves. Every item is made from organic, breathable fabrics free from toxins, ensuring comfort and supporting Good Health and Wellbeing (SDG 3). Behind the scenes, the brand is equally committed to the people who make the clothes. Fair treatment of all stakeholders, and work in a safe, motivating environment, clear steps toward Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8). Profits are not extracted, they are reinvested into new materials, better technologies, and the preservation of Hungarian craftsmanship.
Elischer R. also takes a firm stand against the wastefulness of fast fashion. They don’t participate in Black Friday or mass sales, choosing instead to encourage mindful purchasing, an important contribution to Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12). Their designs are intentionally timeless, and customers often return because they appreciate this honest, transparent approach. “We wanted to prove that a small, privately run fashion brand can be both environmentally responsible and financially successful,” the founders explain, and their growing community of repeat customers shows they’re right.
Their environmental commitment stretches further. Through durable design and education, the brand proudly engages in Climate Action (SDG 13), working to reduce textile waste and lower their carbon footprint. One of their most inspiring achievements is a collection made entirely from upcycled fishing nets, turning ocean waste into something beautiful and functional. This effort directly supports Life Below Water (SDG 14) by raising awareness about marine pollution and demonstrating that even discarded materials can be given new life.
“Every Elischer R. garment comes with a lifelong guarantee… encouraging people to buy less but better.” It is a simple sentence, but it captures the heart of their mission: to build a fashion world where quality, care, and responsibility come first and where sustainability isn’t a trend, but a way of life.

Elischer R. was inspired by the growing global awareness around sustainability and the slow-living movement, especially during the Covid era. As people began to value durability, quality, and conscious consumption over fast fashion, the brand saw an opportunity to redefine what sustainable fashion could mean creating clothing meant to last a lifetime rather than a season or two. Their mission was to prove that fashion companies can thrive while prioritizing care, transparency, and environmental responsibility
Environmentally, it supports a circular fashion model that significantly reduces waste and resource use. Socially, it strengthens customer relationships through transparency, integrity, and long-term commitment. This approach has resulted in remarkable brand loyalty, with around 50% of customers returning regularly. Elischer R. has demonstrated that a sustainable and ethical approach can lead to both environmental preservation and strong business growth opportunities.
The lifelong guarantee and commitment to sustainability have become key differentiators for Elischer R. By aligning with customers’ values since funding the business during Covid, a time when slow-living and conscious efforts toward living more sustainable were becoming more widespread, they have experienced 100% growth. This international expansion with customers across the US, Australia, Germany, and Spain.. Ultimately, the innovation has built a loyal customer base, strengthened brand reputation, and proven that sustainability can be a profitable business model.
This innovation directly benefits both society and the environment by reducing waste and encouraging responsible consumption. Their approach minimizes textile waste, lowers the demand for new raw materials, and reduces carbon emissions associated with production and shipping. For society, it fosters trust, encourages mindful purchasing habits, and promotes a cultural shift toward valuing quality, care over disposability.

Aliz Ivánfi, Co-founder

The business is run by a mother-daughter duo, Réka and Aliz. All things connected to Technical and Creative production is of the mother’s expertise, while Aliz is responsible for everything else including Raw Material Sourcing, Client Relations, Marketing, SoMe management and Back Office.
The business started off as Réka making clothes just for herself and her daughter, then expanded to making pieces for friends and quickly grew to be an established brand. At first they were using dead-stock materials but changed to sourcing only from sustainable materials and using truly eco-friendly packaging.
They have a few limited collections for small designer shops, but majority of the sales are direct B2C via their own online platform.
All of the orders are made to order based on the exact measurements of each customer, hence a longer 2-3 week delivery.
The boxes used for shipping are repurposed: the business owners and friends collect them purposefully to be reused in order to reduce unnecessary waste created with shopping.
