Summary

One of the top HVAC manufacturers, Untes Company, established internal testing facilities to guarantee their air conditioners' best calibre and dependability. Through innovation, UNTES can uphold strict standards and, by improving energy efficiency, directly contribute to the UN's Sustainable Development Goal of Affordable and Clean Energy. Encouraging other manufacturers to follow its high standards and supporting innovative manufacturing techniques promotes Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.

Innovation

Untes, a well-known HVAC firm headquartered in Turkey, has revolutionised the industry by setting up its internal testing facilities. This creation results from the company's commitment to sustainability and quality assurance. Through internal testing and certification processes, Untes ensures that each air conditioning equipment meets stringent requirements before being marketed. This initiative was started at their production facilities in Turkey in the early 2010s due to the need to implement changes and maintain total control over product quality quickly. Thanks to its testing facilities, Untes can replicate various operational conditions, extensively test items, and certify them for use in international markets. This competence is crucial since the United exports to more than 60 countries, where different legal requirements must be satisfied. The CEO of Untes outlined the company's competitive advantage: "By managing the testing process in-house, we can ensure the highest standards and promptly address any issues, ensuring our products are reliable and energy-efficient." This tactic enables Untes to become a competitive force in the global market and directly targets the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in addition to enhancing product dependability. Untes' proposal contributes to achieving Goal 7 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals by making HVAC systems more energy-efficient. Products that utilise less energy also encourage the adoption of renewable energy sources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, by setting a benchmark for excellence and inspiring other Turkish businesses to support similar training, Untes helps to realise Goal 9 of the SDG of Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. This makes the world a better and more sustainable place by promoting contemporary industrial techniques and a culture of continuous improvement.

Inspiration

Untes Company's dedication to quality and ambition to dominate the HVAC business drove their innovative development of internal testing facilities. The CEO clarified, "Ensuring every product that leaves our factory meets the highest standards was our primary motivation." We understood that we could ensure this calibre of quality if we were in charge of the certification and testing procedures. This strategy gave the United States a distinct advantage because it was necessary to compete with global behemoths from the US, Italy, and China. "By moving it in-house, we maintain complete oversight and can quickly implement improvements, which is crucial as we export to over 60 countries," the CEO added. This skill improved Untes' standing internationally while supporting its products' dependability. "We wanted to inspire other Turkish manufacturers to aim higher and adopt similar practices," the CEO added, emphasising their impact on the region's manufacturing industry. As a result of their success, many have begun to enhance their testing capacities, improving the general calibre of Turkish goods on the global market. This rippling effect highlights Untes's role as a pioneer and influencer within the industry, driven by a clear vision and a dedication to quality.

Overall impact

Untes Company established its internal testing facilities by increasing the standards of the HVAC industry. Since Untes oversees all of these processes internally, rigorous quality control and precise operational scenario modelling are made possible. This distinguishes it from several competitors that contract out certification and testing. This invention has had a significant impact: it ensures the highest production quality, enhances competitiveness with overseas companies, and supports the company's main export activities to over 60 countries, including the US, Italy, and China. By maintaining stringent internal testing guidelines, Untes guarantees the calibre of its goods and serves as an example for other Turkish manufacturers, encouraging them to do the same, fostering a culture of excellence and ongoing development in the HVAC industry. This in-house capacity offers a clear benefit. This internal capability provides a distinct advantage, enabling Untes to compete globally and set a benchmark for industry standards.

Business benefit

The innovation makes us competitive in terms of international market competition and locally here in Turkey to drive further innovation of environmentally friendly air conditioning solutions. Furthermore, when they buy from us, we provide our customers with trustworthy, high-quality, and environmentally friendly units. Our success is fueled by our dedication to innovation and sustainability, both locally and internationally. It highlights our commitment to fostering a more environmentally friendly future for everyone and strengthens our image as a reliable supplier of top-notch air conditioning systems.

Social and environmental benefit

How does this benefit the environment we can test? If there are any harmful effects that our products might have on the environment, we can. We can test different, for example, refrigeration gazes which for a very long time have been affecting the ozone layer so nowadays we have stringent regulation on ozonation regulations so all of this can control testing laboratories and in the testing centres is that every you know what is under consideration is under control. Hence, there’s minimal wastage of energy, and you know precisely where every kilowatt of electricity you put in the device in the air conditioner. Where is it going? And what is it doing? And how efficiently it is being used; we are trying to reduce our carbon footprint and the environment; furthermore, our factory has solar panels installed on the roof. Hence, we produce a significant portion of our electricity consumption by ourselves and house off-grid, so it’s another innovation that states that we should reduce its carbon footprint and effect on the environment.
